Game #60 | Cavaliers (41-18) @ Hawks (34-26) | March 3, 2017 | 7:00pm ESPN

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Except Delly had the highest defensive rating on the team.

Cavs have added 4 players in the last 2 months. They have 2 starters out for quite awhile.

how bout give them more than 2 or 3 games to gel.

also the Cavs are 15-1 when leading by less than 5 in the 4th quarter.

? We lost 3 straight. Didn't we lead against Spurs and Kings at home and blow it?

Damn, what an entertaining game up until letting go in the fourth, but a win is a win and I had a lot more positives to take away than negative. Of course you have to mention the unbelievable three point barrage but I saw more than that. The obvious would be Kyrie going ballistic for 43, but the passes were beautiful, 31 total assists. Also something probably everyone has overlooked, LeBron was the leading rebounder for the squad. You have his points but he was grabbing those boards.

Umm I just watched this game but for some reason I was taken aback at the final score just now, that was in regulation.

Lue has to do a better job of getting LeBron rest when we are way up in the 4th. There's no reason he should be playing that many minutes when we are up so much. Let Deron run the second unit for a couple of minutes to start the quarter and let LeBron rest.

Welcome to the sport of basketball, you probably don't even know what you're seeing right now, but it is greatness. Try to enjoy it.

Did you not understand that was sarcasm, because he absolutely murdered Atlanta?

What the FUCK happened? Last I heard we were up by 23 early in the third, then I check out the end of the game and it's a one point game? What excuse do we have for not holding leads now that we have such a deep bench? Or for Lebron playing 40 minutes? How did we end up like this?

This kind of shit will not fly in the playoffs that's for sure.

Lue doesn't do practices. He hopes his experiments work. Iverson taught him well.
Anyways, he has no excuse to play Lebron 40 minutes every night. We rely heavily on talent rather than good offensive and defensive system and it shows when Lebron is off the floor.

Scored 135 and set an NBA record for 3's.....and no one is happy.

Crazy where the expectation level is during the regular season.

Only thing I even worry about is staying healthy. Defense will be fine.

It's all effort on that end and our regular season defensive effort has been awful for 2+ seasons.

Wrong. Defense was excellent after the trades the Cavs made in 2014-2015. They held teams under 100 consistently.

You'd think LeBron just played 48 playoff intensity defense minutes in a game with zero timeouts and no half time break and no waters, gatorades, or orange slices. Has anyone called the various Atlanta hospitals to see if he's still alive?

The 2014-2015 team played at a slower pace with fewer possessions. So holding teams under 100 more frequently = expected.

Just compare the game logs. If you wanna say the pace matters that much we can just look at the DRTG.
There is still a huge difference.

Cavs murdered teams after the trades in 2014-2015. Compare the game logs 2015 http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/CLE/2015/gamelog-advanced/ and 2017 http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/CLE/2017/gamelog-advanced/
and you can see that there is still a big difference in DRTG when you take away pace out of the equation.

You can't really compare the team that we have now to the team we had in 2014-2015.. to think that everyone expected Blatt to win with that team without Lebron in the beginning of the season is absurd.

Cavs should blow teams away, especially when they lead by more than 20+ in the 3rd quarter.. It also annoys me that Lue isn't more involved on the sidelines.

Is there somewhere online you can generate the post-trade numbers averaged out for comparison purposes? I can't find any. NBA.com's stat tracker isn't helping either. Too fickle.

Good question.. I have no idea maybe someone else can help us with that.
Again, i'm not saying Blatt was a good fit, because he wasn't. I don't care about him right now, But both of them are not evenly criticized and the things that Lue keeps on doing are being put to the side and marginalized.

Blatt didn't get a fair shake but it was obvious Lebron and him just didn't get along. Blatt would have been torn apart if he had played Lebron so many minutes.
Tonight, Korver played 15 minutes straight to close the half and 15 minutes straight to finish the game and it's not the first time it happens.Korver is not 100% so it's risky what he is doing right now.
Lue's been harping about experimenting in the RS, but to me it seems like he wants to win badly so he kinda contradicts himself. Korver should rest next game but I don't expect it to happen.

I know this team will be much much better in the post season. But it's more about the players and Lebron rather than Lue. Lue's job is to put the players in the best position to win, if it's by managing their minutes well or putting the right lineups on the floor. you can evaluate the coach based on that.
What you can't evaluate properly right now is the defense but I'm not even criticizing him for that because I have no idea who's fault is that.

We need the best Lebron in the playoffs and we know that Lebron's performance dips when he is tired, so what is he doing? Do we wanna risk it?
