Game Thread 2018-19 Season Game #33 | Cleveland Cavaliers @ Toronto Raptors | December 21th, 2018

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yep it frustrates me.
Dude gets visibly annoyed with the rookies mistakes or misses but doesn't blink an eye at JC and Hood chucking.

And I like Larry btw, but he needs to channel his emotions sometimes.
I don’t know if it frustrates me, I think the issue is Sexton keeps making the same mistakes over and over. I’d be much more willing to live with them if he showed some growth.

As far as Clarkson and Hood, they are what they are and have actually been playing better. I think the expectation for Sexton as a PG is different from those two, who are there to score.

I know he’s young, but he’s gotta start looking for others more.

as soon as sexton came in for delly, I knew it would blow out.
Would be interested to know if Delly is still on minutes restrictions...I thought he could have been played a bit longer, we looked good when he was out there...still Sexton has to learn sometime

They are hardly even giving him point guard duties though. He brings the ball up the court, dishes it to Clarkson, Hood or Nance and then stands in the corner or on the wing. Thats system not player.

When he is given more pg responsibilities, yes he is shoot first but also has good spurts like tonight of passing, being aggressive penetrating to open up opportunities on the outside or cuts etc. Its about finding the balance and I think that comes with confidence, probably didnt help coming from the situation in alabama also.

I thought Sexton looked alittle better tonight about trying to find guys. He had a good 3rd quarter but I knew that 4th foul was going to mess with his rhythm.

The players around him need to be willing to pass the ball out and let Sexton reset the play instead of forcing a shot. He needs those touches to improve his vision and develop as a PG.

We need to trade some players. Guys like Clarkson, Hood, and Burks figure they need to get theirs when they get the ball, which leads to younger players like Cedi and Sexton taking shots they shouldn't because if they don't shoot when they have the ball they may never get it back. It all makes a guy like Delly, who doesn't care whether he gets shots or not, stand out.

I guess this is the plight of pretty much every lousy team ever, though.

Then problem is we have too many guys like this. Just Clarkson? Great as that scoring punch off the bench. But with all of these slasher/volume shooters, there isn’t enough to go around.
