The timing males me think he asked to be released so he could find a new team before training camp.

I think not. His first twitter response was welcoming David Njoku and saying "Looking Forward To Getting Started". And then his next post was thanking the Browns.

Almost sounds like he thought he would be mentoring Njoku and then got the phone call about his release. It does not sound like he asked to be released. But if you do have a varying viewpoint, I would like the hear the reasoning behind it.
