Giannis Adetokoubo: 18 year old freak of nature

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Happy for my fellow "Greek". Too bad he will have an early vacay in second round. Consolation will be extra time for him to go back home and cruise the Aegean...

The Karasev pick just looks like Grant didn't do enough research about the person off the court. Same thing can be said about Bennett and Waiters.

With Karasev, I think getting out of his Dad's sphere of influence was really bad. He was basically a first semester freshman once he got over here and wasn't being coached by his own father.

I said we should take Giannis because he had the most upside. It was an impossibility for the Cavs after Eyenga unfortunately. I also said Stephen Adams and it turns out the Thunder were willing to trade Lamb and Adams.

I would feel great today with either. Not sure how we keep one of those guys and Get Kevin Love, but anyway

Adams would be perfect next to Love. And Bennett was not what made the Love trade work.

2013 draft was a missed opportunity, but it was a lousy draft where there were just a few gems hidden away.

Would Giannis have developed this way with the Cavs?

Seeing that the Cavs have never developed a player with high upside in the past 15 years? I'd venture a guess and say no.

Eh....they developed Kyrie in my opinion. That's pretty much it.

I think if he had Lebron or even Kyrie he would have improved. The GM for the Bucks said he saw this talent in him. Giannis is self-motivated. You add that with having Lebron and Kryie the sky's would have been the limited. Jimmy Butler was saying that he never seen someone work so hard on their game like Kyrie. Remember KD use to workout with Lebron in the off-season. As crazy as Mike Brown was he taught Lebron how to play defense the right way.

When I think about that draft I also think about CJ McCollum. CJ and Kryie in the backcourt. wow

I mean, wasn't Lillard in that draft too (I remember Cavs didn't pick him, he went after us)? Imagine that backcourt.

Edit -- Lillard was in 2012 draft. But still.

Lillard was in that draft but we already had Kyrie in 2011. So in 2012 maybe we should gone the Draymond Green or Bradley Beal. So the question is would you rather have Beal or CJ?

I'm of the opinion that Kyrie was the same player until LBJ came back.

He was immensely talented and had a high ceiling, but without LBJ coming back to put the org into win now mode, he would've continued the trend of bad habits etc. I don't think any player reaches their ceiling with this developmental staff.

Remember when before draft I wanted Giannis to Cleveland. Pick him just for his potencial, now he is a freaking star.

He is actually in my top5 of best players in the entire league. Laugh at me if you want, but I believe it to be true. A great two-way player already at age 22. He only needs to improve his shot and perhaps get a bit stronger and he will be in the conversation for the best player on the planet.
