good podcasts

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Any good ones for sports betting?

Joe Rogan Experience episode with Bob Lazar is incredibly interesting. He shares his experience while working out at Area 51. Pretty cool listen, assuming the dude isn’t completely full of shit.

In the Dark. Very good real crime series. You'll be hooked.
WTF. But only the good guests.

Chris D'elia is hilarious as a guest, pretty meh as a podcaster.

Fighter and the Kid
This Past Weekend

Those are both funny as long as they have good guests. I can't get into them if they're just talking into the mic for 2 hours.

Also, any Podcast with Will Sasso as a guest is hilarious.

Theo von is my dude
Bill Burr's podcast has it's moments.
Bill got me started in pods

If anyone is looking for a couple of great podcasts, Small Town Murder and Crime in Sports are both fantastic and hilarious.

The recent Crime in Sports episode about former ECW wrestler New Jack is one of the funniest podcasts I have ever listened to. It's so goddamn absurd and some of the quotes from New Jack are absolutely incredible. There's a part early on covering when he was wrestling in Tennessee for a Jim Cornette promotion. Cornette apparently famously hates hillbillies, and he was in the ring with New Jack and told him to say something about the OJ trial to piss off the white folks in the crowd. This is what New Jack came up with: "I just want to give a shout out to my man OJ Simpson. Great work. Two less of em to worry about." :chuckle:

Small Town Murder is from the same guys as Crime in Sports and is basically two comedians discussing a true crime story from a small town. The format is such that one of the guys is telling the story and the other guy doesn't know it ahead of time, so his reactions are genuine. It's a comedy podcast, so they tend to pick some of the most batshit crazy murders you could imagine so there's plenty of things to poke fun at without making fun of the murder itself. I've really been enjoying this one, as it satisfies the true crime itch while also being consistently funny and entertaining.

Also, Making Podcasts Great Again is hilarious if you don't mind making fun of Trump. It's a comedian doing a spot-on Trump impression and he does an entire 45 minute podcast in character in an interview format with his tech support guy Jay, who "Trump" believes to be a different guy every week. It's offensive as all hell but offers a ton of laughs each week.

Check out Jigos Podcast next Monday. I'm on it. Not that I'm anything special. I like to think I am though.

Longtime Rover podcast/radio show fan, but today was "jump the shark" bad in terms of what they crossed the line on...oof.

Never gave up on Rover, but RIP Nadz. Was thinking he would live longer.

Just saw the news during halftime and it put a damper on things.

I am a podcast guy. I like that it doesn’t require my full attention, so I can go about errands or going to work and listen. Anyway, a couple of ones to share:

Shawn Ryan ex-military dude interviewing veterans. You get some crazy details and you get a broad look at what these heroes are up to post-combat. Also the struggles. It’s just very real. @The Human Q-Tip @Sebastian @Marcus . I am sure it isn’t perfect but these insights are incredible and give you perspective into how good civilian life is. Thank you to all of our veterans, sincerely.

The other one is Huberman Lab. Health & Nutrition Science podcast. I encourage everyone to listen to this episode because it answers the question “what does it mean to be fit?” and gives examples, fitness tests, and rationale. He also has a really good episode on alcohol if you want to know what it does to you. Here’s the fitness one:
That’s it for now! Please share some episodes or podcasts you like. Lots of awesome deep dives out there and excited to see what you all come up with!

It's weird how many celebrities have a podcast now. So many YouTubers have moved to podcasts too which is weird cause they went from showing you what they were doing with vlogs to just telling you in a podcast. It seems like a regression.

There is some good to it though cause you get back stories from tv shows or you get interviews with people that never would be interviewed in long form.

This podcast that had Travis Rice on is something I found real interesting. If you like snowboarding and it's a good listen. It's crazy long, 5 hours, which I've only gotten have way though. Travis Rice has been responsible for the biggest snowboard movies of the last decade.

I just think a lot of it is the formatting.

On Youtube, you need to be engaging. You need to be on, and keep the eyeballs you get. There's very little room for slower pacing.

With podcasts, people expect a slower pacing. They are prepared to listen for a long period of time. There isn't a list of videos selected by an algorithm screaming "CLICK ME!" on the side of your screen.

I enjoy the podcast format from some Streamers and YouTubers. LTT's WAN Show is one of them. H3H3's Leftovers is another.
