Over the weekend, I was able to be inside Michael Strahan's tent for his after-party Saturday night. The tent was all lit up to be like a night club and decorated with a NYC feel to it. They even brought in special bartenders from NYC. I was expecting Cocktail type moves with the bottles, but that never happened.
The tent was about 40 yards long with a white screen with a 92 projected one it at the far end.
The first person to walk into the tent that wasn't working was Tom Arnold. Just walked in, grabbed a drink, then waited for the rest to arrive. Once the crowd came in, Strahan entered and was introduced to the party goers by Jay Glazer, who is maybe 5'5" tall. Glazer presented Strahan with a custom bottle of Johnny Walker...made with real Strahan!
Strahan thanked the crowd for coming, blah blah blah, then mentioned someone there with NY ties who reps that area (as well as Jersey). That white screen with the 92 on it was pull aside and this was what was revealed:
Not the best picture, but that is Bon Jovi. Yeah...he played a good 10 or so set including a really cool rendition of The Who's Baba O'Reilly. I was standing close enough that if it were a real concert, I would have had to pay a pretty penny. So that was awesome.
After some scratchings from DJ Skribble, a name I remember from some old MTV dance party days, Strahan makes some more remarks and then introduces this fellow:
Once again, not the best photo, but that's LL Cool J. He did a half dozen songs and was pretty sweet as well.
Let me remember who was there...
Mike Singletary
Shannon Sharpe
Marshall Faulk
Harry Carson
Tom Coughlin
Eric Dickerson
Emmitt Smith
Kelly Ripa
Usher
Tony Gonzalez
Lomas Brown
Tons of hotties
