Hollywood scandal

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
naming names is activism, which can lead to change, but leadership requires more than castigating the offenders,

Whether or not that is true, leadership on this issue must include naming names. The entire thing has festered precisely because so many people have refused to name names. And as soon as people start doing that, the culture will begin to change. Nobody wants to end up where Weinstein is today if they can have success and avoid that fate.

Conversely, if we just get another round of "we have to do better" speeches that don't actually accomplish anything, and the identity of the perpetrators remains hidden, nothing will change.

He has always been a scary-smart kind of guy. Absolutely brilliant.

He genuinely seems to give a shit about the world around him, rather than just himself. Did you see the video/article about him going solo to a Council meeting to discuss the hiring of a new Police Chief?

Where he went out of his way to bring Trump into local police mishandling a situation? Very brave.

No. I missed that.

I did see him at Diamonds in Centerville, OH shoving singles in a strippers g-string though.

No, I honestly don't go out of my way to read what celebrities think on issues, so I didn't even click on the link.

But I think that is actually the perfect thing in which concerned people should get involved. I've argued a bunch that "systemic" police misconduct doesn't exist on a national level because police aren't organized on a national basis - they're state/local. So the real emphasis should be looking at individual departments, and trying to ensure they are operating correctly. But getting involved with one department doesn't have the same social cachet as claiming a national agenda.

Awareness/involvement in the selection of a Police Chief is pretty much ground zero for meaningful involvement. As opposed to the headline-grabbing but ineffectual generic protest paradigm.

I've been there! :chuckle: Buddy's 21st while we were in college; went up to a buddy's place in Beavercreek for the night & went there. Shoving singles in a g-string is G rated there, as I'm sure you're aware.

Nothing like the strip-mall strip-club. :chuckle:

Well, he was advocating for someone who's from the area to be in charge, as opposed to a complete stranger. His point being, hate has become very prominent among people who know nothing about one another. Even more-so after Don walked into office. Bringing in someone from the area would, therefore, present a better base for a relationship between the police & community. A better relationship would have a good shot at keeping situations from being "mishandled".

Former child star Corey Feldman, one of the most prominent whistleblowers on Hollywood's alleged pedophile ring, has vowed to dedicate himself to exposing that pedophile ring.

The fallout of the Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment scandal has sparked a conversation like never before on Hollywood's sexually depraved culture, including pedophilia, which some say is rampant in the industry. Though Feldman, who began speaking out on Hollywood pedophilia in 2011, has led the charge, other former child actors, from America Ferrera to Elijah Wood, have confirmed the practice does exist in Tinseltown.

Since The New York Times reported allegations against Weinstein, more and more women (and men) have felt compelled to come forward with accusations against Hollywood's sexual predators. As of now, four Amazon Studios executives, a Hollywood agent, and director James Toback have all been met with serious allegations.

While the exposure of specific predators is certainly a step in the right direction, the overarching story involves the industry's complicity in the sexual abuse and how far up it goes. Are studio heads involved? Did major players know and do nothing? All questions that the public must have answered if Hollywood ever hopes to restore credibility and goodwill.

Feldman, for his part, being one who allegedly experienced such abuse as a child, now feels empowered to further expose the story. In a YouTube post, Feldman announced his TRUTH campaign and his desire to produce a film that will name specific names of Hollywood pedophiles, one of whom, he claims, still has immense power in the industry to this day.

His voice teeming with trepidation throughout the video, Feldman claims that forces have been trying to prevent him from coming forward with the truth, especially the past few days, during which his life has descended into "utter chaos."

Last week, when Feldman announced on social media his impending plan to expose Hollywood's pedophiles, he was arrested just days later for possession of marijuana, which he found rather "ironic." Feldman also claims that "two trucks came speeding at me at the same time on a cross walk" and that several members of his band have "decided to quit because they’re afraid for their lives."

In the video, the Stand By Me star states he can name six names off the top of his head, including one "who is still very powerful today and a story that links all the way up to a studio, it connects pedophilia to one of the major studios."

Considering that it took over a decade to expose movie mogul Harvey Weinstein of his alleged sexual predations, beginning with the buried 2004 NYT story, Feldman knows that naming powerful names will become a costly legal venture that puts his family at risk. To help him out with his crusade and for "additional security," he has launched an Indiegogo campaign, which can be donated to here.

"Corey and I fear for our safety, and we need protection to get this truth out," Feldman's wife, Courtney Mitchell, writes in the campaign description. "To do this in the way Corey envisions it will take both time and money."

She continued, "Firstly as a security measure Corey has already written down the names and details of the events and given them to a trusted person of power, in case anything should happen to him or any member of his family before the film is finished."

His bandmates probably quit because the band utterly blows, but I hope he exposes by name any scumbags involved. Or, he may just be doing it as a shakedown....

I think Beavercreek was the easier joke, not it being in a strip mall, but what do i know.

I can understand it being difficult, though- California law leaves him exposed if he doesn't have proof. And it would be the death knell for his career.... and while WE feel his career his over and has been over, it clearly isn't over in his mind. He has to find the right way to do it. My thoughts: blurt out the information, then flee to Russia.

Why doesn't he just name the names instead of vowing that he will name names?

Why doesn't he just name the names instead of vowing that he will name names?
I think he's afraid for his and his families safety. Also the statute of limitations have passed so he would likely be facing lawsuits.
