WTF is up with Ty Lawson? That whole experience has been horrible for both parties have they tried to trade him at all?

He just hasn't been good. Hasn't really been a bad experience. He hasn't been good, but its not like we rely on him, we have plenty of wings.

At this point, the Non Guaranteed feature of his deal makes him a good trade chip to use on draft day or at the deadline.

I really think he wants to go to a team with established All Stars and win.

I think he wants to gets his stats and whore the attention.

Don't see much of a market for him. He's not good enough elevate any team outside of the current contenders into contender status. He's old enough that rebuilding teams won't cash in their assets for him. The ending deal makes it even more dangerous to trade for him.

Would think OKC would maybe be in desparation mode with the threat of Durant potentially leaving still looming. Try to take a big swing at it this year. Maybe a return to Atlanta where he could be the show and they could continue to be in the mix for an extended playoff run.

@ the bolded it turns out he wasn't wrong. He should have been getting more touches LA. Do you remember who was coaching that team.........As far as The Rockets go they're a mess.

Look I get people are in their feeling about Dwight because they don't like him but trying to put the failure of that Lakers team on him is bs. Also the series they got eliminated by POR he dominated and nobody talks about it. Harden was the one who came up short then.

I'm far from a Kobe fan. The whole farewell tour, while I understand guys have great respect for, is nauseating to me because, as far as I'm concerned, Kobe really isn't what players should aspire to. However, if you're telling me Dwight was right because Kobe tore his achilles and became a shell of himself, well, we just disagree. Kobe was absolutely still playing well enough to be the lead option, and Dwight was coming off a major back injury. Dwight was playing for one of the BEST PnR coaches in the NBA, and he essentially refused to be used as a dominant roller. If he had played his role instead of bitching the whole time, maybe they go somewhere (key word, maybe).

If the Cavs can hire Howard, Van Gundy and start a live stream reality show all at the same time, I'd be all for it.

Just taking the temperature here....

How do you feel about a Love for Howard / Ariza swap?
Tristan and Moz or Tristan and Andy are probably the only trades the Cavs would consider doing, and I'm sure the Rockets could get something better.

See the real problem is, it's basically a non starter type of trade for us.

You guys would want Love, we're not trading him for a possible rental, and outside of that we don't have anything you guys could build with. Don't get me wrong TT and Shump are solid, but you would likely be able to do just ad well with the cap space.

The only way I could see it working is if we cleared a ton of cap space for you guys in the off season, which would basically gut your team...

Dwight would be a solid addition for us, against at least 28 teams in the NBA, possibly even GS. He does have a history of fucking over the team that traded for him though, so it's a little risky on that front.

Howard is still a dominate force in this league, and he is proving that this season while Houston has struggled, he is still putting up great numbers and has continued to shine.

Howard, Bron, and Kyrie would be a nasty trio. If there were a way to somehow keep Love and add Howard, only a fool would decline that. But Houston isn't that silly.

I'm 100% on board with acquiring him, though, supposedly Bron and him don't exactly get along - thus means no deal.

I keep hearing this but I don't know where it is coming from or if it has any validity?

Anyway, I only take Dwight if certain criteria are met. First, we keep Kevin Love. Second, we get a guarantee he will sign beyond the offseason at a discount. If he wants to compete for championships, he is going to have to sacrifice money, I would say like 15 mil a year tops. I think that is his fair value at this stage anyway. If he can't accept that, no deal.

If we traded TT and Moz and perhaps took a bad contract with our TPE, I think that could be a home run, especially if Dwight takes the discount. Otherwise, I'm not too thrilled about paying the max to another injury prone player who can't make free throws and is out of their prime. But pure talent wise, I think he would be a near perfect fit along side Love because of his defensive presence and rebounding. He even hits the offensive glass pretty well which makes up for losing TT.

But with all the risk involved and the chance of him taking a discount from what we know, it seems like an unlikely scenario. It wouldn't be too big of a risk just losing Moz and TT and maybe a pick, but one would think the Rockets could get a better deal. I just don't know if too many teams are lining up for Dwight wanting to use precious assets on someone who you can't build around anymore. It's different for a championship contender where he becomes the 3rd or 4th option, it might make more sense.

I agree with this. Honestly I think the people who dislike Dwight are missing all the key points you made. I don't remember Dwight and Lebron even having a rift on the court. It's just always been assumed IMO. I really believe that Dwight knows where he's at in his career. his next move will really define him. He's already led a team to the finals and been the man before. I think he knows it's time to really chase rings.

How about the weather today? Whewww boy it was nice.

Bimbo lives in Houston...

I really don't want Howard to answer your original question. To much baggage, very selfish and honestly he has declined and just isn't worth a max contract the guy has literally added nothing to his game in 10 years and it hurts him as his athletic ability has declined. Also he wants a max contract, we don't need what he brings and another max deal. It's not my money of course but you follow, we need to be able be a deep team to maintain pace and get where we want to get.

I go to Rockets games I live here too, the biggest problem in Houston is Harden running a muck iso all the time, Hero ball is never going to get it done. That and they are so weak at PF. If Harden could find away to co-exist in a team offense then H-Town becomes a threat until then he is just going to go to All-Star games and make ESPN top 10 high lights 4-5 times a week. Maybe he is content with that? He has effectively made Ty Lawson and Howard to some degree pedestrian, if they ran ball screens pnr, pnp they could tear up the league but man its a little late now to change the offense 100%

All that and the Kardasian curse got them too...

I certainly understand the age and contract concerns.

Not helping with GS? Well I would disagree with that.

Howard is very solid against Golden State

As was Ariza:

Love hasn't fared nearly as well (First and Last on the list):

That's quite the sample size you've got there

Yeah if we can keep Love, it's a great trade. If we lost Love, I'm not sure it is a positive move, because it would kill our spacing.

I've been wanting Dwight Howard on this team since forever. If we have Kyrie, Lebron, Love, and add Dwight Howard we be one of the best teams ever.

Dwight on this team is what he needs. He can come in and focus on what he does best. Play dominating defense. He wouldn't complain about his touches on this team. The reason he complains about getting touches in HOU is because you got guys like Marcus Thornton and Pat Beverly taking as many shots as him.

There wouldn't be any pressure on him and he would take a whole lot of pressure of other players. As far as his character goes I really think people are taking it to the extreme thinking he would come to this team with these players in this situation and not buy in.

I really think he wants to go to a team with established All Stars and win.
Dwight strikes me as someone who will complain no matter what.

That being said, Id take a flier on him depending on the cost. Sadly, I think just about anyone can outbid us, but Morey does seem like the type of guy that would like to prevent GSW or SAS from winning another title.

To me though, that's the only thing we lose in that swap.

Yes, it plays a huge factor in our offense, but picture our defense. Who's gonna attack us down low with Howard and T.T, maybe Mozzy still down there?

Dream scenario would be to acquire Howard, then add a wing defender somehow.

Of course the asset bowl is very thin, but that's why it's called a dream.

We lose half of LeBron James offensive ability by losing our spacing. TT can't hit a jumper, and neither can Howard. LeBron is most effective attacking the basket, but on every play, there would be 3 defenders in the paint waiting for him to block his shot.

Trading TT/Moz for Howard doesn't effect our spacing too much, because Love is still there to take the defense out of the paint, but losing Love absolutely would kill it.
