How did I do? (Fantasy Football Draft)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I have Foster, MJD, Ryan Mathews, Pierre Thomas.

I'm starting MJD, just not sure who to have as my 2nd running back. Thomas plays tonight so I don't have much time to decide. Foster sounds like a big question mark.

Any thoughts?

I think Pierre Thomas might be a good play from here on out... but it's a big risk starting him tonight then finding out Foster is healthy as a horse. Ingram and Sproles haven't had their specific roles defined yet.

I'd go with Foster and MoJo, but be sure to check updates before kickoff of the Houston game. They announce injuries literally one hour before kickoff, leaving you with enough time to switch to Matthews.

I'd appreciate it if he throws them to Jimmy Graham...actually I'll settle for 2 of them. :)

Perfectly fine by me ;)

If I see there isnt' a thread in here or in the NFL section, I will make one before game time. Otherwise, feel free to anyone or mods to create a sort of GameDay Fantasy Talk or something along those lines, I am sure people will join in just like Indians games/Browns games.

Sproles gets sneaky points in ppr leagues and leagues that count return yards. He might only go for 4-5 catches, a few carries and double digit return yards on a bad day, but that adds up to a solid 6-10 points in our scoring format. If he blows up for a long touchdown, you are looking at a solid 12-20. I'll take that as my fifth running back.

Sometimes I truly believe that the only reason this forum exists is for me to paraphrase myself, proving how goddamn right I am.

Looks like Manning will be out 2-3 months minimum. I currently have him and Flacco. Best QB's available are Alex Smith, Cam Newton, Kerry Collins, Matt Hasselbeck, and Andy Dalton. Any suggestions on who to pick up?

I'd feel pretty good with Flacco only to tell u the truth. If I HAD to pick one, I'd probably pick Collins over Hasselbeck by a hair. I currently have Kolb & Bradford on the trading block, hoping to entice someone just like you to bite here soon.

Are you in a 12 or 16 team league? If 12, I might say stay pat and just gut it out with Flacco.....I think he'll be pretty good this year. If 16, I'd probably pick up Collins to see if he can utilize the weapons he has for some solid fantasy games.

Well Colston is out for about a month with a broken collar bone. I've got good WR depth, so I'm thinking about dropping him and trying to solidify my RB situation. Addai is available, I figure he might be a good option with Peyton hurt since they may rely on the running game more. I'm also tempted by Sproles, he looked pretty potent last night but he is part of a 3 back system. The third option is Fred Jackson. What do you guys think?

If I were in your league, I'd dump my worst player for Colston immediately after you drop him. Having the best team the first four weeks isn't nearly as important as having the best team the last four weeks.

Normally I would agree, but like I said earlier I'm really stacked at wideout and a little thin at running back. Colston is probably my 4th best wr.

Who are your other running backs? I'd go with Fred Jackson.....but I will admit Sproles has more upside. Jackson is the safer pick, IMO. No way would I go with Addai right now.

I'm 100+ today with three left to play. I left 20 points on the bench too!

I put up 115.5 and left 10 points of Boldin on the bench. My RBs are Chris Johnson, Blount, Jahvid Best, and Daniel Thomas. Blount and Johnson gave me next to nothing. I'm just hoping that doesn't become a trend.

After watching the Colts I will agree, no chance I'm taking Addai.

I'm in a 14 person league. Flacco did do pretty well for me this past week, so I'm getting a little bit of confidence in him. I'm (hopefully) picking up Cam Newton. Even if Carolina losses a ton, he should put up big numbers in the rare case that I need him. The rest of the QB's that are FA's are garbage.

Ben Tate put up big numbers this week on my bench, and Stephen Jackson got injured in the first game. Heh. Still snuck by this week. Managed to pick up Devery Henderson from NO, and with Colston being out, my WR core just got a lot stronger.

Still don't know if I should keep Manning or just cut my losses.

In any event, I think it's still too early to drop Manning. How are the playoffs set up? Do you have to win your division? Top few teams make it?

Take a guy like Randy Moss (N/A) - who is just consuming a bench spot - I'm hoping he ends up signing with the Pats and he can be a valuable play down the line for me. He sure as hell ain't giving me anything now. I feel very comfortable about my team (at this moment) so I can have a guy like him (or Peyton Manning, if, say, I had a guy like Joe Flacco as my 2nd QB [which you do]) just rotting on my bench for the time being.

Now, do some forecasting.......it's week 12 or 13........you still have Manning. Where will he be at this point? Where will the Colts be? Are they going to be completely out of the playoff hunt? In that case, maybe Manning sits for the rest of the season......well, you just lost out. But, what if he comes back, fully healthy, while they are 6-6 and still in the playoff hunt? Manning could win you your league straight up.

I'm still in disbelief that I even broke 100 on the first week. much less on track to put up between 120-130.

This was my best football draft ever. I'm always bottom two. Every goddamn year.
