Hubie Brown

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No one will ever touch Bill Walton. He's great. Not because of his commentary of basketball. Because of his commentary on anything.

I wish he'd come back and do NBA games.

And who cares if announcers root against the Cavs?

Shouldn't bother you. Who cares what other commentators think.

I care. It aggravates my NE Ohio persecution complex.

And it makes watching games a lot less enjoyable. Even when I know the outcome.

Besides - it's his JOB to be impartial. He's not doing his JOB. For which he gets paid a ton of money.

God forbid an announcer suggest the Cavs might of got away with a foul
cause you know fouls are definitive and not subject to interpretation.

The problem is people think they have to agree with everything an announcer says for it to be good announcing.

Hubie at 82 is by far higher quality color commentary than the majority of guys on TV

Most NBA commentators are fetid. Saying that "Hubie at 82 is by far higher quality color commentary than the majority of guys on TV" is like saying that a good solid turd is better than a bucket of amoeba-infested diarrhea from the jungles of SE Asia. I wouldn't really want to CONSUME either...

See - Bill Walton is fun. Bill Walton, I could listen to... Funny AND knowledgeable, and largely impartial. Just loves the game of basketball.

Bill Walton has done one interview with KNBR - the Golden State flagship radio station - all year. I would have posted it, but didn't because Luke is an assistant coach and one third of it is overly praising the Warriors... but the other 2/3rd of the interview is a mix of LSD flashbacks, Greatful Dead quotes, and ebullient compliments about John Wooden. It's perhaps the best 15 minutes of my past two months listening to drive time radio, and again, a good chunk was just jerking off the Warriors. So, even Bill is going to piss some Cleveland fans off.

If you don't like occasional jabs at the Cavaliers, just turn on your radio broadcast. Hubie is still better than everyone else at ESPN in my book.

How old is this dude. How is he able to fly to all of these destinations to call these games ??!!

He looks 100+.

He was absolutely unbearable, like normal, and you all know it.

Idk how you defend a guy trying to sell a rig job.

Its not his job to be impartial. it his job to provide commentary in between play by play and add to the entertainment of the game.. that's what he does.
He isn't campaigning for people to hate the Cavs.

Could have fooled me.

BTW: I just re-watched a bunch of highlights from last night, and ESPN had a 49-second clip of the Teague forearm shiver. Hubie didn't say a thing. Not a god-damned thing for the whole 49 seconds. The only guy you hear is Tirico. Not a basketball play. Does Hubie give a fuck? No. Hubie does not give a fuck. It does not fit his narrative. Yet, he likes to call out contact, when it is from the Cavs. David's right - the dude has become unbearable.

They defended teague. And blamed pro Cavs reffing.

Ibn the end it was the Cavs fault lebron was thrown out of bounds bc we were getting all the calls.

I'd love to hear that defense in a murder case

"Well ya know, he got a bit upset at his wife and things get emotional and, well ya know. Nothing against jeff here. He got mad at his wife bc she yelled at him for cheating and stabbed her to death in in the neck, these things just happen

Why would Hubie Brown be biased against the Cavaliers?

I don't think he's biased against the Cavs. I do think he's not a big fan of LeBron, for some reason, and he's losing more of his filter as he gets older. I remember him making some head-scratching comments during Heat games when LeBron was there.

I think it's mostly LeBron, some JR, and maybe a little Delly.

He's not. He's just getting old and his mind slips at times.

And maybe he's not a fan of LeBron. I get the impression he's probably not a fan of this new-school of age tactics, which LeBron is the front page poster boy of. Swapping teams back and forth kind of thing. That's just MY guess.

He probably doesn't care for it one bit.

If that's how he feels, I really don't blame him. I don't think he purposely tries to sabotage LB or us on air though.

Why the hell would Hubie dislike Cleveland? He has like zero reason to.
