Hue Jackson and Todd Haley Fired

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What was the question he was asked? Didn’t they blow out the falcons? I’m confused what he’s even bitching about.
He was not talking about his own team. He was talking about it as a league problem.

This is what it’s going to take to change some of these recent QB rules. Roll them back a little. Every single coach sounding off. Every single player. Even quarterbacks.

There was a penalty yesterday on Michael Bennett sacking Kirk Cousins. Just an absolute abomination.

Can someone tell me why the offensive playcalling can barely get players open?

The passes that Mayfield had to make were ridiculously tough. I watched some other teams and their guys are fucking wide open.

Help me here.

Mayfield goat.

Ravens have a top 5 defense.. they are a good football team... impressive win by the browns

Combination of good coverage downfield and good pressure up front.

The Ravens do both very well. They very much have a top 5 caliber defense.

Combine that with Baltimore’s ability to stop the run and force offenses into long passing situations, it’s a recipe for great success.

When you factor in quality of opponent, Mayfield throwing for 342 and a touchdown on Baltimore is more impressive than throwing for 295 and two touchdowns on Oakland.

I know Baker’s stats would have been a lot better without all the drops in Oakland, but he had a few balls hit the ground yesterday too.

I found yesterday’s game especially more impressive when you consider the Browns rushed for 228 against the Raiders v. only 112 against the Ravens. Combine that with the fact that Mayfield was under significantly more pressure yesterday as well.

It was a very good and encouraging performance against a good defense.

Spitballing....

What other jobs are going to open up this offseason? And, what is the likelihood that the Browns job is the best? Like, if the Browns win 6 games, they will be the most attractive job, right? You have a bunch of cap space, you have studs on rookie contracts at QB, CB and DE, and a potential long terms solution at LT. That's extremely enticing right there, and on top of that you guys like Ogunjobi, Schobert, Peppers, Callaway, Duke, Chubb, Njoku, etc.

Like is it weird that I kinda want the Browns to only win 6-7 games this year, then have Dorsey pick the next coach?

I could see all of these jobs coming open.

I'd throw in Dallas as a job that could possibly open.

If the Broncos and Jets end up only winning 5 or 6 games, they might both make a change as well.

Players love Hue, great. They will fight for him. But they will also fight for a coach who is creative, smart, likeable, etc.

I did not see it in here and I am sure it may be in the 2018 Season thread (haven't been in there yet) but how dumb can Hue be holding up "2" on his fingers after the made FG to win it and trying to get his players back on the sideline?

How can a coach not know that FG sealed the game and he won?

It's shit like that that makes me want Hue gone. Not just the clock mgmt. issue..

I left Dallas off because the only way that team wins is if jerry hires a coach and actually lets him coach the team and well.......that ain't happening lol

I left off NYJ because I think people have been setting expectations too high for Bowles and I think he's done a pretty good job. I think they might Lovie Smith him though.

Denver is tricky because I don't think Elway wants more turnover but I would't be shocked if he made a move to get a guy in there that he really likes.

My sleeper pick for a surprising coaching change is PIT but I don't see a guy out there that the Rooney's would go hard after. Who would be at the top of their list?

what about the giants? Do you that will be open?

Don’t think that was it at all.

I'm not totally sure Bowles would get a 5th year if he went 5-11 for the third time in a row.

Denver, if you believe the rumors, was strongly considering getting rid of Joseph last season and this year they're just as much of an undisciplined mess as they were before.

Which one of those is better than the Browns? Maybe Green Bay and Seattle?

GB and SEA are better because of their QB situation and you're probably not going into a rebuild although I'd argue that SEA needs one.
