Hue Jackson and Todd Haley Fired

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Meh, maybe OC, I could 100% see Hue hiring Carson Palmer as his OC if Palmer were to retire this year. They have a previous relationship from their time in Cinci.
There's like a 2% chance Hue will be a head coach next year lol

We have to at minimum win 3 games for Hue to even have a chance imo

And even then it's no given
And I highly doubt we go 3-6 to close out this tankapalooza

Carson Palmer has made almost $175,000,000 in his career. He isn't retiring to Cleveland to become a low ranking OC.

I'd offer Tony Romo the HC position.

No joke.

So color commentator is the easiest job in the NFL, he isn't leaving it anytime soon unless he's taking a John Lynch GM deal.

Some of you guys with fine wine tastes need some perspective about your preferences. This franchise isn't fine wine right now, it's Keystone Light.

This is why many people were thrilled with hiring Jackson in the first place... At least he is like a 12 pack of Blue Moon. His resume was decent. Chances are slim getting decent again unless the Browns are in a position to get a franchise QB in the draft

I mean if there's some hypothetical Peyton Manning/Bill Polian/Tony Dungy trio? I'd dance a jig.

....

This being said? I'd settle for Todd Haley or Josh McDaniels. I think both could do okay with a front office that doesn't try to play 3 dimensional chess during every draft.

Josh McDaniels turned down an interview with both the Browns and Niners in the past two years. He isn't looking for a gig turning a losing franchise around. He tried that in Denver and it didn't go well. He's looking for a good team in need of a better coach.

This is just hypothetical.

Honestly he and Haley are the only two "realistic" options that are catching my eyes.

How much lower can you.get than 1-31?

Coming soon....

The way that he has mismanaged the QB position is a damn disgrace.

I want to like Hue, but I think he needs to go. You can’t bench a rookie QB and call it a learning experience then announce him the starter for the rest of the year and bench him the next week. What the hell are you doing?
I disagree. Why not? Kizer will keep getting chances and if and when he starts to play winning football only then should he get to stay on the field. Between Kizer and Hogan the quarterback position has been costing us winnable games. Kessler can at least tread water but he can't do much more than that. Treading water is better than demoralizing the whole team with stupid interceptions.

Most of the talented players are actually from the old front office. Sans Garrett and Nojoku. Without kirksey, Shelton Bitonio, Duke Johnson,Crow and Thomas this would be one of the worst rosters in the last several decades. They really have not added that much young talent.

They took a very bad team and turned into a level barley above expansion status.

They have accumulated draft picks, which is great. It will give the next front office more to play with!

You've got to remember these guys you mentioned (Kirksey, Shelton, Bitonio, Johnson, Crow) are guys that SHOULD be hitting the prime of their careers now. Sashi has 2 drafts under his belt. We are 7 games into season 2. Not everyone is a superstar out of the gates like Garrett is. The majority of draft picks take 1-3 years to fully develop into high quality players; Kirksey is an example of that. Personally I think the front office has taken a solid approach to building the team. Have we passed on QBs? Yes we have. Is it the most important position in all of sports? Yes it is. Kizer and Kessler were calculated low value risks. So far they aren't panning out.

We are going to have the top pick likely again this year, we will have our chance at a QB. We will be 1 more year older, guys from the 2016 draft will be coming into their primes. 2017 guys will be improved. This team will be greatly improved on talent not only with the infusion of more rookies but the maturation of the young players as well as the addition of more veterans. I firmly believe this coming off season we will start using some of the cap room to fill in holes with quality veteran players.

I fear we as fans are falling into the trap of looking at the play by play, game by game results. You have to look at the bigger picture. The team has more young promising talent than I can ever remember. Do I think the coaching staff is getting the most out of them? No I don't. I'm not advocating for any changes at this point but I have not been impressed with Jackson thus far. I think his game/clock management skills are really poor. I really disagreed with him taking Kizer out of the game yesterday too. Didn't necessarily disagree with benching him for a game but when he said he was going to stick with him afterwards then benched him in the 3rd Q of the following game I was upset. That's not how you do it in my opinion.

Talked with a guy who played in the NFL yesterday. His opinion of the job Hue is doing wasn't very good. Many a great assistant coach couldn't handle the pressure of being a head coach.

You cant properly coach such a young team and also call the offensive plays. It's just not possible and it results in an undisciplined football team. He's actually hurting the offense and the whole team by not being able to fully concentrate on either.
