Hurricane Florence

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Also, I went to the store today to grab a few things for the weekend and it was hilarious. There was no bread on the shelves. The only things left were a couple of Pepperidge Farm loafs and those shitty raisin breads. Milk was almost all empty. There wasn't a single pack of bottled water in the store. It's like...you guys realize we're getting like four days of rain, right? This isn't the fucking apocalypse.

I was just there to get some beer.

Frying Pan Tower had a live cam set up starting this morning and it's an interesting thing to track over time: https://explore.org/livecams/oceans/frying-pan-cam

Yup. It’s bad. Media partly to blame though.

Yeah, they've really been hyping this storm up.

But one thing you'll learn living here is that people freak the fuck out over everything weather-related. First time they're projecting a snowfall, you're going to laugh at how the shelves completely empty for snow that's not even going to last two days and how the entire city just shuts the fuck down over an inch of snow.

That’s consistent with what I’ve heard, lol.

I'd recommend staying off the roads when it rains as much as possible too, because no one here knows how to fucking drive. It's a borderline miracle when you get behind someone who even uses turn signals.

Yeah luckily it has been downgraded by a lot. If that category 5 hit it could be pretty bad
Categories are only based on wind. Cat 2 or Cat 5, they are still getting the same rain and same storm surge. You’re talking 150mph or 100 mph wind, either way, it’s gonna fuck shit up. Category ofnthe storm isn’t really important, like someone mentioned earlier, it’s a way to hype up the storm.

Used to that from FL!

This will be my first hurricane. I met my mom and sister in WV yesterday and they took my son back to Akron for a week just in case. We're down here fully stocked on beer and trees and ready to party :D

Why are people so fascinated with bread for hurricanes? Bread of all things.
