Iman Shumpert: Gone! Thank God!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I am probably being overly optimistic but hopefully this DNPCD lit a fire under his ass and he has a self-realization of sorts. If we somehow can get Shump back to playing like he did in 2015 Playoffs, it would be massive!

I hoping it will light a fire under him but maybe they will keep him out for this series and part of next. Shump seems to play his best when he gets extended rest. He played well coming off injury in 2015. He always seems to play well at the begining of the season. 2-3 weeks off to get his body right.

Dream scenario would be it lit him up and play better on defense... then on the offseason he gets traded for delly... not counting on it though...

Hopefully he just gets to his roots and focus on hardnose defense... the Cavs could use more defensive players...

Feel like its time to research some trade targets making ~10 million a year...

But it won't happen :(

I wish...

But someone has to have a bad contract they want to dump who isn't a SG out there...what I'm thinking might happen. Gonna lock up Korver, JR is signed for a while, and Cedi is supposed to be coming over. No place for Shump anymore.

Robin Lopez is making like 13, just need to toss in Jefferson to get this done right after they deal away Jimmy Butler!!!!

I'm not. He really isn't good. He never was. He did the same thing in New York. I remember the warnings when we traded for him.

This is who he is. Shows a glimmer/flashes, then always goes back to being someone you can't rely on.

I don't doubt he'll show glimpses of being a good player, briefly, once again. I don't care. When the opportunity comes to get rid of him, just do it.

Will it be this off-season? I fear not, given his value is probably at an all-time low. This second half of the season he's been D league awful.

He will get an opportunity at some point. We'll see what he does with it. He can be a big x factor if he wants to. But he may not give a shit. Well see.

I dont think Shump is built to take a full NBA season. He played his most regular season games, 76, of his career this year and it showed. Let's not forget even in blowouts he was usually on the floor for garbage minutes. I think he is a 50ish game player plus playoffs.

Was his best game of the season for us today...

I do think he'll play sometime in the post-season, and may even get back in the rotation.

As much I don't like him, I think we are still going to be forced to turn to him. Our defense is not good, and while Shump has not been good, he's still one of the few guys that's capable of defending on this team.

I think this was a direct message to Shump from Lue, to get your shit together and start playing with better effort or you won't play.

You send this message in game 1 against the Pacers, not against Toronto/Wash/Boston, etc, better teams.

One of the few things Lue has done that I like. Maybe Shump might start giving better effort.

I don't know if ty lue is intentionally pushing his buttons, but he looks like a man possessed
