Is Jared Sullinger Ohio State's newest star?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Sully still gets blocked too easily for my taste. He seems to try to bull his way to the hoop like he could in HS, but now there are guys big enough to block his shot. I hope that JS starts to develop some pump fakes into his game...then he can get guys on their feet or draw some contact and live at the line.

I am also surprised that we haven't seen any of his step-back game yet.

We'll get a good feel for him once the Big Ten action starts. He will be matched against guys even bigger and stronger than he is. One thing in his favor and something that can get him far is that he seems to be that quiet kind of leader. He's smart. He's got a good basketball IQ for sure. He sees the floor totally. He makes good passes to open players if he gets the ball and is doubled. He plays real smart for the most part. He HATES to lose. I've also heard he plays the leader role in the locker room as well. That's special from a freshman when the team is stocked with 3 and 4 year vets.

This Ohio State team could actually run the table this year, at least the regular season.

Damn. Sullinger = 21 points. 12 rebounds..... AT THE HALF.

OSU leads 42-21 against South Carolina. SC lost to Michigan State by only a few points recently. They are a good team with only the one lose. Sullinger is just a beast.

He shot and made a 30 foot turn around jump shot at the end of the half and even called the bank beforehand. lol

He looks like Kevin Love. Just dominates with his knowledge and footwork without the explosive athleticism. OSU has a great shot at a deep run come March with Sullinger's post ability combined with the fact that Lauderdale can guard the opposition's best big to help protect Jared from foul trouble.

By the time the Draft gets here, I think Sullinger will be ranked #1, in a weak draft class, I think he can pull ahead.

Hopefully, it would be sooooo awesome if the cavs could draft him. He could play PF and we could trade away Hickson and Antwan.

That's a good comparison. Both have a nose for the ball and are always in the middle of everything. I love how Sullinger pulls down rebounds. There is never a doubt it's his ball. He goes up strong. He grabs with both hands and with elbows out. It's more like a snatch and grab. He is damn good at finding a man and putting his body on him so that if he isn't getting the ball, the other guy damn sure isn't getting it either. He's just a beast.
