Boston will get their karma. Philly is going to be ready to take over the East when Lebron's done, so Boston won't be able to have their dynasty.

Have to win one title to start a dynasty. They need to be competitive in a ECF first...

...or any playoff series for that matter :chuckle:

Yeah, let's see what happens when they try pull an IT and insist that an injured Kyrie play in the playoffs.

Drederick will have Ainge's guts for garters.

Ainge would get tossed off our flat Earth's ledge.

Or wake up one morning surrounded by Byrie's less reputable friends.

Would have fucking had Rozier.

I'm not sure we would have just swapped Rozier in. I was hoping we force him into the trade when IT's medical looked worse than expected.

We definitely should have forced the issue. If we backed out IT would have been the damaged goods we knew he is now. I actually think we could have pulled off a 3 way trade for Bledsoe and some sort of package from the Celtics.

It was dumb trading for an injured player especially with that severe of an injury.

I want to feel bad for the guy but I get the feeling he’s a bit selfish. I understand he went through some major tragedy but prior to that I couldn’t stand him and I’m not entirely certain him playing immediately afterwards wasn’t just him being selfserving with motives?

Brinks truck talk, talked a ton of trash on the floor, forced teams to cater an offense to him, locker room drama etc... Not a fan at all...
Add to this, how he was documenting his progress, posting videos while he was practicing saying 28ppg is going to be easy. He was putting himself on a big pressure. He wants the media to talk about him.
All of this backfired to him.

Either Smart or Rozier should have been on the table as both are going to be rfa in the summer and Celtics can't keep both. Celtics wouldn't have swapped IT for Rozier/Smart when they get Kyrie in return? I doubt it..

I would have insisted of getting another first round pick as well with Rozier/Smart as a replacement for IT.

I think that the Celtics would have done it but I don't think the cavs front office would have. They wanted a star player in return or close to it. Very few people around here were high on Rozier, I've always liked him. I don't think they would have traded Kyrie for Rozier, Crowder, Zizic, and two first round picks. He looks like a different player than what he was this time last season.

This time last year Rozier was averaging 16 minutes and 5.5 points per game.

Don't know what they had in mind with IT. Just didn't fit the timeline at all. Were they expecting to sign him in the off season as well?

Don't they know how much of an issue this kind of an injury is for a player like him? losing even 10 percent of your ability and it's enough to make you a non factor.

Bummer that we couldn't come out ahead...because we had the opportunity. Celtics were desperate as fuck.

I think Gilbert and the front office wanted the combo deal of an all star and future assets. I don't think there was another deal like it out there so they just got caught up in the moment and couldn't back away.

I think they actually thought they could build around IT.

In the end we didn't come out with a complete lose. Nance, Hood, and Clarkson all have potential. If Koby didn't pull the trigger and revamp the team, we would be a complete mess especially if IT got surgery right now.

I have to say, this is fucked up of me, but part of me hopes Kyrie blows out his knee just so I can let go of my bad feelings about that trade. It was so infuriating on so many levels.

I'M SO SORRY KYRIE I DIDN'T MEAN TO DO IT
