Joel Embid 2016-17

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He's my favorite non Cavs player

Guys, if you haven't binge-watched his highlights videos from this year, do it. They're fucking awesome.

Guy is literally everything he was projected to be and more, just an outstanding player.

What a different NBA it might be if he didn't break his foot a week before we were about to draft him. Wouldn't change a thing now, but he will always be on of my favorite players

Embiidians rejoice, we won that one.

So, you think Minny is having second thoughts of not gambling on Embid?

They could have had KAT and JE. That would have been absurd.

I'm sure they are thinking a little bit about it.

Of course, Embiid did break his foot, and he's a big man. So there are somewhat decent odds it can happen again. And if it does, Minny will go back to looking like they made a correct choice.

This will take years to figure out who was right and who was wrong.

That said, I am every-so-slightly concerned Embiid might be a little caught up in his own hype. Having The Process splattered across his twitter page is........interesting.

I'm confused, do you mean they should have traded for him? The Cavs made the Wiggins pick, and MIL took Parker. Don't see how MIN had the choice on Embiid.

It should also be added that, in addition to the foot, Embiid missed the last quarter of the season at Kansas because of a back issue. So you're talking about a young big man with a back problem and a broken foot. That's a pretty significant gamble.

January stats:

76ers are 6-2 (6-1 when Embiid plays)

Embiid averaging 23 ppg / 9.1 rpg / 2.4 bpg in 27 min/game. 82% from the line on 11 attempts per game

And perhaps most impressive:

76ers as a whole are 14-26 and have a point differential of -229. Embiid's +/- is +48, one of two 76ers players to have a positive +/-. McConnell, Okafor, Covington and some other notable players are all -100 or worse.

If the sixers get 8 seed, the cavs would wise to give up the top spot to toronto.. The cavs dont have the frontcourt depth to defend embiid and okafor.. Not to mention the sixers have a bevy of athletic wing defenders against lbj.. They have great rim protection to counter irving and lbj.. The cavs' 3pt shooting, spacing, and pace must be on point.. The cavs can definitely defeat a young and inexperienced team but the physical toll for a 1st round matchup would be bad going forward.. We need the easiest path to the finals if we want to compete with a healthy lineup against the warriors..

The 76ers wouldn't be anywhere near as tough a matchup as the Pistons were in the first round last year.

Honestly, as crazy as this sounds, the Pistons were probably the toughest of the three EC matchups.
