Josh Gordon discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I just don't understand his vendetta against the Browns. He's screwed himself out of a career, but he hates Cleveland?
Well im sure theres lots of information we arent privy to, including the details that lead to the nfls decision.

But if he did fail another one he would be permanently banned not invited to try again on five months. It's simple. Another failed test would've closed the door on Josh Gordon for good. The door is still open thus he couldn't have failed a test.

I think we can all admit that it's pretty ridiculous that anyone can be permanently banned from the NFL for smoking weed.

That said, the rules are the rules. I had to pass a piss test to get basically every job I've ever had, and you know what I did? I stopped smoking weed for a couple of weeks so I'd pass them.

Considering the tens of millions he could have made... WTF, dude. Lay off for however long it takes to pass.

Ricky Williams is another guy. People say weed isn't addictive but these guys give pause to that narrative.

I don't think it's physically addictive, as in it contains nothing that is actually addictive (like nicotine, for example), but you can get mentally addicted to anything.

I know a guy who spent $1500 a month on weed. When he ran out of money he had severe withdrawal.

Then again, he has severe mental health issues and NPD, so no doubt psychosomatic stuff enters the equation. He could have suffered real withdrawal or it was yet another example of him trying to elicit sympathy and attention.

Good lord. I don't think I could smoke $200 worth of weed in a month. Like, at some point I have to get shit done other than sitting on the couch eating taquitos.

He is a worthless parasite and would be a Fox News poster-boy for sloth and welfare abuse.

Tried helping him, but he is abusive to his family and a manipulative, delusional madman who has wrecked many lives. He'll probably die in prison. I don't feel bad about that.

At that point, I feel like it's the physical addiction as much as anything else. Of course, there's some moments when you're very short-tempered while quitting and I'm sure it's amplified in such a heavy user's case. The habit of waking up to smoking, incorporating it into the day, and the relaxing that comes with it is a difficult lifestyle adjustment. Quitting becomes something like you striving to diet and lose "x" amount of pounds; not easy for all.

Legalizing weed would enable him and lead many others down this path.

Was that a joke? Doesn't sound like this guy had any trouble getting as much weed as he wanted. Might as well tax his habit to help pay in advance for his inevitable tax payer funded incarceration or hospitalization.

And create more people like him? No thanks.

I'm not sure how the NFL expects repeat drug offenders to be successful in getting clean when their policy is to prohibit access to structure and support the offending players could receive from their team and the league.

Telling guys with substance abuse issues that they're "suspended indefinitely" and not providing a clear road map for reinstatement is just setting up failure. The league should be invested in helping these guys get clean. It helps the individual and the league.

Withdrawal from weed? Didn't even think that was possible.

I've gone through withdrawal before, but never from weed. Scary stuff, hardest thing I've ever dealt with, but I know people who smoke everyday and they can be without for a few if need be.

Someone close to me smokes every single day and has a job making $70K a year and his wife makes around $40-50K. They both do it daily and they can stop and be fine. But they just enjoy the relax, obviously.

I honestly don't even feel like weed is a drug sometimes. It doesn't have the same pros and cons as pills, coke, heroin, etc.

Those type of drugs can either end your life, or just destroy it.

Trust me about that one.

So your reason for not supporting legization is that a guy you know who clearly has mental issues abused it and thus no one should be able to use it.

Out of curiosity i take it you have similar views on alcohol?
