Josh Gordon discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He is an outlier among outliers regarding not only his athleticism but his muscle mass and body fat. It's simply incredible
Incredibly, he's also the only human being in the history of mankind to develop a chemical dependency to weed.

If weed can get you that ripped? Someone hook me up

Realistically, what do you guys feel are the odds Gordon is with this team beyond his contract? (He’s only under contract for this year right?)

I have to think it’s astronomically low even though he’s restricted right?

IDK 50/50 - assuming the Browns want to pay him and he keeps it together. I think I've been able to see personal growth out of him solely by the change in his social media posts. No more childish shit like throwing away Browns gear. On one side you've got the guy from the south who would either want to go back there or a big city as he's your typical flashy WR. On the other side, the Browns are the franchise that stuck by him, could potentially pay him the most money (could be a big factor considering his earnings thus far in his career), and he has turned his life around here/has a good support system established. He also has at least one kid here as well..

BTW I am talking 2020. I see no reason not to bring him back next season as a RFA. I mean why wouldn't they match whatever tender is place on him?

If he makes it through this contract, why not continue to hold onto him with an incentive based deal? We've dealt with this shit for 3 years, if he's going to stay clean now I wouldn't let him go.

It's all going to depend on how much a team offers him in RFA. You're worth as much as a team is willing to pay you and because of his situation there's no guarantee that there's a team that's willing to take a huge gamble on him without being as familiar with him as we are. I could see a scenario where he balls out but teams are too afraid to offer him top 5 WR money and we end up retaining him at what would end up being a bargain.

I think it's pretty reasonable to think he never gets a second contract, Browns or otherwise. This has to be his last chance. One more slip up, and he's never back in NFL.

Provided he doesn’t inhale the season away, you’d have to think any contract he’d get from any team would be wildly incentive-based with hardly anything guaranteed — and maybe a two-year at most.

Regardless of the kind of season he has it’s tough seeing any team being dumb enough shelling out 4 years for him.

Or am I dumb as fuck

I think the dude wants out, but I would do everything in my power to retain his as long as humanely possible. Paying a premium for him while we pay a young QB is the way the Eagles & LA are able to be so successful.

Do teams have to pay him if he's suspended? If not, I don't see the issue with giving him good (however you want to define that) money if he balls out when eligible. You have an out.

Yea this is why I was hesitant to say anything.

Gordon has oddly begun to rep the Browns HARD on social media. Almost like someone convinced him that it’s his best business move.

He went from the Snapchat a year ago with trash can emojis on all his Browns gear to now showing off his Browns gear in his posts any chance he gets.

I’m not complaining at all, it’s just odd.

His head is on straight.

A guy I work with is an ex pro body builder and Gordon is in Phoenix training. Anyways he works out at the same gym as Josh and knows him and says Josh's head is on straight and super focused.
