Josh Gordon discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm seeing some chatter that Josh Gordon is indeed being held out of training camp to avoid anxiety and pressure related to the presence of Hard Knocks being taped. Is anyone else seeing this as well? Sometimes Twitter feeds are kind of arcane and cryptic to interpret for an old fart like me, can anyone better versed in the Twittersphere decipher some of the stuff out there about this?

I don't see any reliable sources beating this drum, although it has picked up some steam lately.

I wouldn't be surprised if that sentiment came from Lane over at OBR and Twitter ran with it.

Rumor has it that he is currently in Gainesville training/his rehab facility is there.

And it is said he IS doing it because of what you said..not being pressured by dumb questions about his recovery which could heighten his stress, anxiety, etc. This has come from UF Football assistants, some "smaller" NFL/Draft/sports accounts on Twitter (anywhere from 5k-50k followers).

So, take it however you want. In my mind, w/even people like Schefter and other huge media people saying he has not relapsed or anything, it 100% has to be not having his face on the HN cameras. Focus on your sobriety while still getting training in.

EDIT: Yep.

I'm going to guess training camp has a lot of players going out for a few pops after practice, which in most cases is good for team chemistry. For a guy who has been abusing substances since age 10, that's going to be a problem this year. He knows his whole career rides on this season. When he shows up he is going to be the best version of himself.

I know a dude name "Gator". Made the Bengals training camp roster.......as soon as his name made the list, women, drugs whatever he desired was made available to him after practice each day. He lasted I think 5 days before he was cut due to exhaustion and partying. Said it was a different world as soon as his name was on the final training camp list. Was around 2000 I believe, but doubt that much has changed in that regard

I don't fault Josh one bit for making sure his mind is right

If this is truly what's going on then props to Josh and I hope it works in his/our favor.

Echo what I said regarding Josh in here.. I'm proud of him for seeing the situation, and removing any doubts of falling down that rabbit hole.. Because trust me, it's so easy to fall back into the cycle. It's so easy to fall back into old habits, what you were doing before and make everything better.

There's a lot more I can say, but I'll keep it short and sweet for now. Just proud of flash for doing what's best for him, and hopefully he's ready to go for preseason action so we can get a taste of what we will see come week 1, and the regular season in general.
