K Love for Marc Gasol

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yep, but cheaper.

As I said, this trade implies that cavs are set on playing LBJ mostly as a 4 as he starts declining. That's why Love wouldn't be that necessary. No spacing issues here. Actually, even better spacing than before I believe.

Like : Irving, Jr, shump, Lbj, Gasol. Don't tell me this team would have spacing issues.

Gasol s age is indeed a good counter argument.

I'm actually hoping that DeMarcus Cousins demands a trade out of Sacramento and Kevin Love is somehow the best offer they get.
Love would have the worst luck in the world if that happened.

From the disaster that was Minnesota, to competing for championships in Cleveland for a year, to arguably the worst organization in sports in the Sacramento Kings

At this rate, LBJ will never move to PF as he seems to always need the ball in his hands and would rather pound it 30 FT from the hoop. He would HATE to be banged on down low defensively for 30 minutes a game aswell.

No, I don't trade KLove.

PERIOD

Just because Lbj would be playing of doesn't mean he did have to be in the post all game. He can still initiate from the perimeter, with Gasol as the lone post up threat

It's not doable.

While we COULD S&T Love out for a player who is already under contract beyond this year, we CAN NOT receive a player back via that player S&T.

As Gasol is a FA this summer and not under contract, if he is involved in a trade, it will be via him S&T'ingm eliminating us from consideration.

The far more likely scenario is this:

The players and coaching staff now have a full year under there belts. Love will have a whole summer to heal his back and make adjustments to his training and workouts to better keep his back in the shape.

The clear alpha pecking order has been established: LeBron, then Kyrie, then Love. The mid season trades have brought in the other necessary pieces.

The full offseason and next preseason will focus on reflecting on what worked and what didn't work this year as well as what wrinkles can be added. The ability to work and implement new plays will be so much easier with that full year together. Expect the smoothness and ease that the Heat had in years 2 and 3 to mirror here in Cleveland, but likely at an even higher level, as our roster is younger, deeper, and more diverse than the Heat roster was.

Do you think there is an "alpha pecking order" in San Antonio?

This is a team game.

I can't believe I am responding to this... But not a chance... People don't understand what Love brings to this team. A primarily perimeter player right now averaging 10 boards. He is the 2nd best passer on our team. And maybe the most willing passer. He draws fouls at a high rate and is averaging more rebounds and 1 point less per game to Gasol.... I watch the Cavs and see Love and Moz as essential to their success right now.... Oh yeah and it can't happen because it would be a sign and trade.

There is an alpha pecking order on every team, whether its spoken or unspoken.

Perhaps what you see in San Antonio is due to the on the court relationship and continuity of TEN years together for Duncan, Parker, Manu, and Pop. Then guys like Splitter, Green, Kawhi have all been there 3-4 years.

Believe me, when Parker and Manu where in their first couple of years, Duncan was absolutely at the top of the alpha pecking order in that team and set the tone in practice and in games. Luckily for the Cavs, much like Duncan, LeBron is a player who involves his teammates and always has. If LeBron had the mentality of a Kobe or Melo, he would have had several scoring seasons of 35+PPG

Having that sort of pecking order is not a slight against any player and it does not preclude the team from playing good team basketball on both ends, which this FIRST year together team does the vast majority of the time.

I don't really understand why any Cavs fan would even spend any time dreaming up ridiculous scenarios like this to begin with, MUCH LESS two weeks before we try to win a championship. This thread is a huge eyesore.

I just want to say that it's fucking depressing to read a thread about trading Kevin Love when we're just a couple weeks away from going on what should be a very deep, championship-contending playoff run.

You're right when you say this, but people could respond to this by saying that we the fans of the Cavs are depressed by the fact that a guy making 15 million dollars a year has been sulking all year and is probably constantly thinking about leaving this championship contending team, so it does work both ways.

If it was straight up Love for Gasol, maybe. With Moz added, it's not a good trade.

The way the team is currently set up though, is pretty perfect for long term success, while being good in the present. When LeBron's on the decline, Love will hit his prime, and when LeBron is basically a borderline all star, Kyrie and Love will be in their primes.

Getting Gasol would seriously limit our window. Although Gasol is a much better player than Love imo.

Complete conjecture on all accounts.

I do not share this feeling nor do I agree with your opinion on what Love is thinking or has been doing.

The one thing you simply CANNOT argue is that his game has been under utilized for a large portion of the season.
