To be fair though, nobody could have predicted how good Kawhi would turn out to be, and no other team would likely have been able to get him so far.

I dont see the upside. If we are going to reach that much, please look at shooter like Clay Thompson, who will be able to knock down open jumpers and space the floor. Neither guy deserves to be taken at 4

I'm going to say that he becomes a Dahntay Jones. Nothing spectacular, can hit the jumper after a couple years of working on it, hardnosed defender, athletic finisher. He's not going to be the all around player that Gerald Wallace is IMO...

I talked Kawhi up that whole college season, it's just not present in that thread. I love me some small college West Coast hoops and Leonard was underrated. Leonard absolutely needed to work on some issues with his natural gifts at the time of the draft.

If he wasn't the highest of high character guys and the hardest of hard workers, I'm not sure some of these takes would have been that far off.

Like everyone always gets called a hard worker...but there's a hard worker, and then there's a Kawhi Leonard hard worker. Hard to know that type of stuff from watching him play in college. Something only a coach, really, would know.

Imagine those two with Vogel coaching and Roy Hibbert manning the paint before he forgot how to play basketball... That defense would've been unlike what the NBA has ever seen.
