Kawhi ?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
In your estimation, is Love, Cedi, Zizic and the 8th pick in the draft more valuable than Kawhi Leonard?

Clearly, it is not.....if we are operating in a vacuum where you assess absolute value and assume he is 100% healthy.

My stance on this is, where does it get us? What can you win with LeBron, Kawhi and effectively nothing else?.....in addition to no realistic way to improve the roster? To me, that puts us in the same place....just a better version of the same place....and as Lebron ages, our situation isn't any better IMO.

There's some cost to moving a disgruntled star (see Kyrie) and value is set by what the market has to give up. Usually in these scenarios, there's also some preferred destination list that further dampers a players value a bit.

Kawhi is worth more than the package described above but the Cavs have to consider the bigger picture here. They have to think about how they can form a big 3, not how they can form a more ideal big 2.

Yeah I am not sure a better big 2 plus TT gets it done.

Great points...

It's a tough situation...

.

This is the part that really matters. There's a good chance Kawhi wouldn't be terribly interested in coming here, if the rumors about wanting a bigger market are true.

There's also the "if LeBron won't commit then I don't want to play there" factor.

My roll of the dice hope is that we have a 3rd player on the team ready to step into a CLint Capela, Draymond Green type roll where they don't put up star raw statistics but they have star impact.

Maybe Larry Nance, maybe Cedi Osman. Otherwise its really tough to match the top end talent of Houston and GOlden State while having enough left over to find a 3rd star via trade. Houston drafted Capela and GOlden State drafted everyone outside of Durant. We kinda need that, I think. One of our guys to grow into that type of role. And I have some hope for Cedi in that regard (assuming we get a new coach).

Okay so we have one guy who hopes Cedi grows in to the D Green or Capela role and this post saying Love/Cedi/ZiZic and the 8th isn’t enough. I say it’s plenty and if they want more send them an expiring contract. Regardless , I want SA ‘s 1st round pick to draft JC as he will keep the ship sailing in the right direction . Plus I’m not decimating my front court sending away both Love and Zizic, one must stay .

If you can get Kawhi without giving up Love you do it in 2 sexonds...Love is still the ideal PF/C to play with LBJ...also if this Series has showed you anything you still need somebody that can get buckets so if either Portland guard is available for our pick if it is indeed 8th .. I'm doing that deal in 2 seconds as well

If you lose Love to get Kawhi the team isn’t that much better off. I mean, LeBron and Kawhi would wreck most teams, and Kawhi could carry the team with LeBron on the bench much better than Love does, but I don't think there’s a realistic chance to beat the Warriors.

Now, win the lottery and trade salary, Cedi and the pick for Kawhi? Yes.

A lineup of Hill-Kawhi-LeBron-Love-Nance could play some really great defense. Although I’m not too high on Hill, not sure what else we can do to upgrade the position. Also wouldn’t be opposed to trading Love for someone else if we did get Kawhi. He just isn’t a good fit against GS.

Thanks for the intro . I have the perfect solution to upgrade the PG with a young fierce defensive force for years to come. I’ll expand your trade Out Top 3 pick + Cedi + Hill + JR. IN Kawhi + Gasol + Pick #15. Taking on Gasol contract adds more incentive for SA to trade out the pick while taking on 2 expiring contracts with JR and Hill. This give them ammo at the trade deadline and frees up tons of cash . Cavs do this to obtain top 5 player + pick 15 will be used for Hill’s replacement . Jevon Carter !!! Carter is a steal at pick 15 as I believe in future draft rewinds he will be top 3 in this years class.

Jevon Carter / Calderon
Kawhi / Hood / Clarkson
LBJ / Korver / Green
Love / Nance / Frye
Zizic / TT

I keep hearing all these Kawhi-to-Lakers rumors everywhere. Supposedly he won’t resign with spurs or anyone else besides LA.

I’m really worried...if Lakers do pull that off...I’m almost certain Lebron will join him there.

Man I would just die if that happened

I think that guy can be Zizic, as you said assuming we get a new coach. I don't think Cedi is creative and agile enough offensively to become a 15-20pt scorer a night kind of guy. On the other hand Zizic has shown some flashes in the post. As someone you can literally dump the ball down low to and expect him to be able to take advantage of a mismatch and finish at the rim. I think he truly can become our Steven Adams. In-fact, our 1st ever 2-way center in the LeBron era.

Also I think there are much better prospects at the 4 position in this draft than the wing, so much so that I would look to move Love for a legit wing scorer. Try to swap Love for a PG, Beal, McCollum, Middleton. Then draft a Bagley, JJR, MPJ, Carter Jr to pair next to Zizic.

Then with whatever assets we have left-over, I would look to acquire a PG at the trade deadline.

This is what I'm pitching LeBron on! Not Kawahi Leonard and a depleted roster.

Eh, the way Love has played these last two games, and always getting hurt in the playoffs...I won't hesitate to include him in a Kawhi deal if Spurs ask for him.

And he won't get developed here, so that's moot. Unless you replace the coaching.

Kawhi to lakers just seems like a bad fit. He is a famously shy and introverted superstar. Going to the lakers is the biggest market in the country and also the added pressure of being the savior they have been chasing for the past 5 years just doesnt scream kawhi to me. I know its biased but cleveland seems like a much better fit.smaller market and kawhi will still have the opportunity to remain "quiet" due to a little known man named lebron james

I just am interested in seeing if they over him the 5yr 210+ mil contract because if they do he loses 80 million by going somewhere else in FA
