Kevin Durant Leaves OKC- Joining Warriors

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Because you are looking at it from the fans perspective.

I agree from the fan perspective it was far, far worse for the Cavs.

We are all saying from a player's perspective what Durant did was much more cowardly. His decision was basically waving the white flag saying I can't be the #1 OR #2 option and be a champion. I am a cuck.
Cowardly? OKC leaving OKC to Join Golden state is the ultimate respect a superstar can pay to the cavs as the defending Champions.

As Ive stated from an organization and fan perspective this for OKC is less devastating than Lebron leaving Cleveland.

Now your trying to change the Narrative. This is a clear indication that you agree with me because I was quite clear on what aspect I was referring to.

As far as Cowardly? Who Cares. Lebron went to form a team of guys who were each number 1 or 2 in per at their respective position.

Durant had an opportunity due to Curry's max contract still under a much lower salary cap to join a team that had already been in the last two finals.

I didn't see anyone saying Durant would be a coward if he joined the Cavs. there was a whole thread of people complaining Griffin didn't set up a meeting with Durant.

I am looking squarely at the impact on the franchises of Durant and Lebron leaving. if you want to debate that . fine . if not you agree with me and we have nothing further to discuss.

I really hate to agree with this but Gourimoko is absolutely right. We are possibly looking at the best team in NBA history here. Four all-NBA players, the two reigning MVPs (Curry for two years and Durant right before that), three of the top long distance shooters ever to play the game, one first team NBA all defensive team player and three other very good to excellent defenders (Iggy, Thompson, Durant).

They really have no weaknesses; they just have areas where they are less strong than other areas.

The only silver lining to this is that anyone who defeats them for the championship immediately enters into legend.

If anybody can defeat them. Agree with everything you said there. The Warriors are unfairly stacked.

Everyones favorite said it best. We must join forces with Crowder to defeat the Warriors. The prophecy is nearly complete

Think the tweet has since been deleted. Found it in a video of player reaction tweets

Here's another depressing as fuck assessment from Josh Levin at Slate:

"If Curry-Klay-Iggy-Barnes-Draymond was the Death Lineup, then Curry-Klay-Iggy-Durant-Draymond is the Earth Extinction Event. To break it down in term of X’s and O’s, the Warriors’ X’s will make everyone else’s O’s look like garbage. On offense, three of the greatest shooters in history will fan out across the floor alongside two of the NBA’s most versatile players. These guys would be impossible to defend even if they weren’t allowed to set screens for each other—the worst player in that lineup is a Finals MVP! On defense, everyone except Curry will be able to guard pretty much anyone on the opposing team. This “small ball” unit will now feature a guy who might be the NBA’s best center and a dude who is taller than DeMarcus Cousins. Would the best five-man lineup from the entire rest of the NBA beat the new Warriors? Westbrook-Paul George-Kawhi-LeBron-Anthony Davis could probably do it. But it would be close!"
That last sentence is killer. The problem isn't just that we're unlikely to add another star, it's that the other star might not be out there to lift us from underdog status.

I would love to get Paul George on our team but not a chance in hell that happens.

Lol Westbrook/George/Leonard/LBJ/Davis would absolutely destroy the Warriors. The fuck is that guy on

Typical doom and gloom shit from casual NBA fans. They said the same thing last year.

Real talk that list would be better if you swapped out Westbrook for Kyrie; at least for the Warriors matchup.

I agree, but either way suggesting that either team wouldn't easily win is just typical Warrior ball licking hyperbole I've come to expect from the media.

Who on the Warriors could even get in AD's way? Even phase him?

What if Durant is pulling the biggest DeAndre Jordan of all time? He convinces GS to dismantle their bench to sign him and then he goes back to OKC and they stroll into the finals! Not going to happen, but damn that would be epic!

I'd make love to him.

With Durant / Zaza / West signed, they are truly scary! I mean they can resign most of their team to vet mins and basically, they would have:
Durant for Barnes (Huge upgrade)
Zaza for Bogut (not as good but serviceable...Bogut played only 20 mpg)
West for Speights (this is a wash as West is better defensively and money from mid-range...they just lose a bit of 3 point shooting but with Durant...)
Their 30st pick for Ezeli (a bit of a downgrade but nothing that major)
Clark / Barbosa / Looney / McAdoo / 30th pick for their 11-15 roster spots (all can easily sign for vet mins)
Livingston / Iggy / Rush / West / ? for the 6-10 spots
Curry / Klay / Durant / Green / Zaza for the starting lineup...
They only need to find a last big n they are set...scary!

ps: regarding Zaza, think he signed for that level of money cuz he is a businessman and Lacob, Venture Capitalist as he is, must have promised him some nice deals on the side (just my opinion)

Besides the makeup of this team, what is truly amazing is how the medias manipulate the narrative! If you read articles since last year, you believe that the GSW FO have planned this all along. For some I agree but some stuffs are incredible nonetheless:

- Take Green as an example: They didn't plan for him to become what he is today. In 2014, they packaged him with D.Lee for Love. Minesota wanted Klay instead which I can understand but if that deals go through, they become a good to great team but not the BB revolution Lacob wants us to believe. Same if D.Lee isn't injured: he would have started and prevent Green's rapid growth. Luck is part of life but the medias tell it like it was planned...nice narrative but far from the truth!
- Family n Fun atmosphere: No one is mentioning that Bogut + Barnes + Speights (maybe) are out without the team being sad about it...I would do the same trade for Durant but I would try to tell that those 2-3 were keys for what they are now...so much for a brotherhood as the medias want us to believe.
- Durant now: They all say that's the right choice, finding excuses for him, saying thats Bron's fault for opening the door in 2010. Now they add it has been in the pipes since WC 2010...LJ has been murdered by those same journalists for colluding, making a superteam...AND Durant has been acclaimed in 2010-11 for the little fanfare to resign with OKC and how low key and admirable he was to put the team first. If you add his 2014 MVP speech & several tweets + the planning with Iggy n Curry, Durant has to be seen as one of the most hypocritical guy in the entire league but NO, he is the smartest according to the medias!

We are fed by the media to believe in the Master Plan and friendly atmosphere that come from the GSW while luck, collusion and arrogance (as seen in the 2016 finals) seem to fit the narrative as well if not even better!
