Kevin Love Trade Ideas

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
we are not getting him for Kevin Love tho :dispirited:

...It's not that far fetched, to be honest.

Bulls are relying on Wade and Rondo who won't be back to help Jimmy Butler in the fight for the 7th-8th seed...

And for what? A first round exit?

Not really sure what their future plans are, but it doesn't seem to bright in Chicago. I think they need to talk to Butler and figure out a game-plan.

Love would honestly be a pretty competitive offer for Butler. And the bulls have been known to take their team in odd directions.

I still don't think they end up trading Butler. He's just too damn good....But Love is a nice offer when half the league will be trying to give you a couple crappy first rounders and exprings.

Love+Osman+Shumpert+2021 unprotected 1st for Butler+Taj Gibson. Simultaneous trade with us taking on one player/contract of Chicago's choice into a TPE so Chi can save $ and create themselves a TPE.

Especially if Butler strongly pushed for the Cavs specifically behind the scenes.... Possibly to the point he scares a team like Boston away from beating out our offer with those Brooklyn picks/young guys....

Total longshot. Very unrealistic. But I'll secretly root for it.

The problem is, unlike Melo, Butler doesn't have a no trade clause and Cleveland would need to compete with offers from teams like Boston, Phoenix, Denver, LAL for him, and those teams can all offer top picks in this years loaded draft plus a one level below all star player and more assets.

To be fair Boston can not offer a high draft pick in this year's draft

They can offer the right to swap for a high draft pick with the Nets. This is extremely important if the right to swap is only good for the team who is swapping's own pick (can't find info on this).

If it is then that right to swap is greatly diminished as an asset for the Bulls as they would be a lottery team without Butler.

I totally agree.. We do not have the best possible offer..

My only point is that we might end up with the best offer on the table, given that Butler might exert some influence and other teams might not sell the farm for him.

Looks like PG is frustrated at Indiana.

"As I told Larry, I always want to play on a winning team. I always want to be part of a team that has a chance to win it [all]. That's important.

"Say what you want; I want to compete for something. It's frustrating just playing the game for stats or for numbers or to showcase yourself. Man, I want a chance to play for a chance to win a championship."

This is something we should be pushing for imo. Boston remain the only other team that can be a strong contender to get PG if he tells Larry Bird that he would leave, with all their assets. But, unless Boston offer both the Brooklyn picks, I doubt Larry Bird would choose that over say someone like Kevin Love + Shumpert (?)?

Man.. the things I would do to land PG if he's available. I'd throw everything at them except LeBron, Kyrie, or TT. I want him more than Butler.

Couldn't hurt to call up Indiana and Chicago and try to work something out for Love...

Otherwise, I'm fine with keeping him.
