Kyrie ranked #1 among the players.... Kevin Love ranked #7... Both having equally great seasons.

I think this has a lot to do with who the players feel is more dangerous on the court; from a purely basketball standpoint, who is the more dangerous threat. I don't think they really care about the stat lines when making these decisions.

Curious to hear opinions on this?

I wanted to mention this but didn't know where since the Kyrie thread is on temporary lockdown.

I thought it was impressive that the players put Kyrie at 1, especially since he's such a young fella. Being respected by your peers is really one of the biggest compliments you can receive.

In terms of player voting, a large portion probably falls on game-planning. Players know who and how they had to attack the Cavs to try to win. Cutting off the head of the snake for us involves neutralizing Kyrie--because teams go in knowing LeBron is going to get his 25, it's a matter of how much help he's going to get from teammates.

This is probably remembered when voting. And my theory on Kevin Love? Being a third option for us hurt him because players are consciously aware. Kyrie and LeBron drew more of their attention, allowing Kevin to do what he does.

Not to mention, despite playing well defensively this year, he still has the reputation that he can be attacked on the other end.

Kevin has been awesome this year and certainly deserves to be an all-star, but I think being a third option on our team hurt him in the player vote. He doesn't get enough credit for his impact on the team.

No need to risk him.

Let his back heal completely.

Even if Kev wants to play, Ty should tell him to stfu and rest.

From history alone, i'm not sure any amount of rest will ever completely heal that back. Seems to be chronic. I'd say play him. If he is doing shootarounds then he is probably at the point where his back is loose.

Yeah let his back heal completely

Probably needs another month or two

Hopefully his back doesn't soften up some more after that I guess

The Raptors loss to the Hornets last night was a great thing. The more they lose, the easier it gets for us to rest our guys.

Hopefully Love's back will become less and less of an issue as his career moves forward.

I wonder if he's ever done yoga? That might help.

He has done Yoga, Pilates, Feldenkrais .. you name it.

With his back issues actually hope he gets all-star snub for extra rest. Meaning less game anyway.

Love looks hurt. He was laboring to get to the corner on that last open look.
Not sure why u don't put Korver in in that situation either. U needed a quick catch and release. Seems like a great time for frye and Korver if u ask me

Yeah that was a coaching mistake by Lue on that last play. Korver should've been subbed in for Love who struggled to shoot all game long.

I seriously don't know why an all time great shooter isn't in when we need a three.

Listen if Love is hurt he shouldn't be playing. Since he is, it is what it is. He was awful tonight. He had no business playing hurt or not. This is on Lue more than Love.
