I think Loves low value has less to do with him and more to do with the white flag situation in the NBA right now. So many teams know they have zero shot against GS, that a guy like Love, who I think would normally be a piece that many teams trying to contend would go for, becomes less coveted around the league. Teams are no longer considering how to win over the next few years, they are looking at youth for the future, creating favorable financial situations, selling tickets, etc. I think his low value is a direct result of a league where 99% of the teams have very little interest in trading to try and improve their team in the short run.

Yeah, I get some of that.

I get what Ainge is trying to do with Boston. No idea why he passed on Fultz though.

Same with the likes of Philly, Phoenix and all. But what about teams like Detroit, Charlotte, Orlando etc who are neither here nor there? Its been ages since Orlando have been to playoffs, Detroit and Charlotte are yo-yo teams in terms of being play-offs. Surely they could establish their playoffs position by adding someone like Love?

Or take someone like Dallas, Portland and Denver. They have some solid pieces. Whats the point of keeping them and not try for an All-Star who can give them a better push?

I understand why a team like us or Spurs or Houston may not be overtly sold on Love because we have to think about ways to defeat the Warriors and then there are teams like Philly, Phoenix, Sacramento etc who have started their re-building process. But the other teams?

I hope this motivates Love and he works even harder to become a better player. He improved a lot last season and I still feel there is scope for improvement.

If you're creating some fake news, why would you say something so stupid like a 5 team trade? at least make it sound believable, it sounds so stupid to be fake news it might actually be true lmao

I did not see the video - Can you post more about the teams involved and who gets what. I refuse to believe that no one wanted Love but more like what they are giving up after getting Love.

Well Said.

I am amazed how teams like Charlotte, Detroit, Orlando are not after established star players who could help them with the play-offs push. They are neither here, nor there. Add someone like Love to those teams, I think they not only qualify for the playoffs but can possibly win a series as long as they don't face us.
It doesn't help Love's case that we can't win games without LeBron and when he sits our team is less effective. Teams pay attention to that.

Its more down to the fact that once LeBron sits, we have no one who can run plays.

More down to Kyrie than Love imo.
Valid point. However, thats part of the issue. Love can't generate his own offense. He's not a great defender either. Essentially without LeBron he hasn't had any impact on winning in his career. Same could be said for Kyrie, but at least he's had some of the biggest moments in his playoff career.

Love would be very valuable if this was 2009. The league has changed.

He would be highly valuable in 2017 if the Warriors would do the noble thing and just go away. There are a lot of excellent players in this league who are rendered ineffective in that match up.

Love is a 6'10 power forward who is great at rebounding and can knock down threes like a long lost splash brother.
He averaged more rebounds than KD in the final 3 games and shot a better percentage from 3 than Steph Curry in that span.
Imagine that, a PF who never touches the ball shooting better than a a two-time MVP PG who always has the ball every possession.
There is no Love "would be valuable if"...Love IS valuable.

He also averaged 12 points 9 rebounds on 32% from the field in that span as well.
In 3 of our losses he shot 23% from the field. Shump levels of bad.

Its not that Love isn't valuable. He's just not as valuable as he would have been years ago.

To be fair, Curry was double-covered a ton, and attempted 50% more 3 pointers. I know you're not implying Love is a better shooter than Curry, but it is apples and oranges, and also a very small sample size. Love is pretty good, but let's not go overboard.

The excuses for him will never end. The people who don't make excuses expect more from him. The people who do have normalize his subpar play in important games vs Warriors

Bruh but he averaged more rebounds than KD that one time. Sure he shot 32% but have you ever heard of a natural PF getting more rebounds than a small forward????

Pls gimme a sec while I scour more obscure stat facts to justify this performance

No need for that.

Love had an average finals performance but snidey posts like that is pointless when everyone accepts we needed more from him. You are making him sound like he was awful. When in reality, he had a really good season and play-offs until the Finals, where he was average.

You don't want to se how valuable he WAS, do you? As in, cry when we don't have any quality big with him traded... You get PG for him and probably him and LeBron don't want to play the 4. Who will? TT? LoL
You lose him you lose C and PF scoring and rebounding at once.
