LeBron's gotta work harder and be a good weakside rim protector.

Its kinda ironic, but LeBron really needs to play like Durant to help us on both offense and defense.

I get what you're saying, but I would say that he needs to play like Draymond on defense and like LeBron on offense (attacking from the wing).

Durant sometimes doesn't do a lot of dribbling. LeBron's the best jump shooter out of our playmakers. We're going to need someone who actually catches the ball and shoots it. We know Wade isn't doing it unless he's wide open and thats not Rose's game. Its backwards, but if he wants these guys starting he's gotta adjust.

It would be great if he played like Draymond defensively. I just don't think he has the energy to do so. Just gotta help from the weakside. Either trying to block shots or take charges.

Both Lue and LBJ have said that the reason they like Crowder is because it lets LBJ be the "free safety" on defense. And, with Love moving to the 5, that means that LBJ will be playing Draymond style defense now.

IF LBJ wants to win one more MVP, then this is what it will take.

Go to 5:46 to hear his response to being asked about providing weakside rim protection. Jokes that he can provide weakside steals protection but isn't a shotblocker/rim protector .

Can’t risk him getting into foul trouble. KDs wingspan lets him do block shots. Lebrons not as long.

We have much more depth at the forward position if LeBron ever gets into foul trouble.

LeBron rarely gets into major foul trouble anyway. Unless its an Ed Malloy game....

No way the refs/NBA are going to allow the best player in the league to be sitting most nights because of foul trouble.

Love probably won't be on the floor much against Warriors but we won't know for sure until Christmas. And if he gets ran out the jym; think Crowder will play center and Jeff Green at PF.
Wade guarding Klay
JR guarding Curry
LeBron guarding Durant
Green or Crowder on Green
Crowder or Green guarding their center.

Then we have a bench of Thomas, Rose, Jefferson, Love, TT...

This team can beat the Warriors in a 7 games series and they will because the Indian sacrifices one more season for the Cavs to win a all. Next year the Indians is not sacrifing shit. They are winning the world series.

Why this Cavs teams is better than the Warriors is to yow freaking deep this team is. If they stay healthy, they have the manpower to run the Warriors out of breath.

Crowder will be the one guarding KD.

LeBron would guard Iggy/Green and play as the defense-safety/rim-protector.

Lebron/Love historically have played well off each other. Hopefully Lue weaves in some 2 man game action between the two, both with Love at the elbows and even in P&R action - could be deadly down the stretch of games

Cavs were better defensively with Love on the court. Also, the Cavs were better defensively with Love on and TT off

For all the talk of his deficiencies on the less glamorous side of the ball, Cleveland’s defense actually tightened up by an astounding 6.3 points per 100 possessions with Love on the floor, according to NBAWowy.

One may believe the discrepancy occurs due to the Cavs’ lack of depth, or the fact that Love would most often get subbed out for the likes of Channing Frye and Richard Jefferson – two vets who remain productive, but don’t possess the foot speed to aptly defend these days.

However, perusing through Cleveland’s defensive numbers last season, we find another bit of evidence that speaks to Love’s importance on that end. With Love in the game and Tristan Thompson – a supposed stalwart of point-stopping – sitting, the Cavaliers yielded 106.6 points per 100 possessions. Meanwhile, with the stretch-four on the bench and Thompson in the game, Tyronn Lue’s team gave up 110.1 points per 100 possessions.

Let's see your proof.
1. Love and the starters-
(Copied and pasted from my previous posts) Our most used lineups in the finals was Kyrie-James-Love-Smith-TT produced a negative net rating of (-12.6).

When RJ replaced Love in the same lineup we produced a net rating of +17.7. He had the worst overall rating of all starters at -13.6 on the court and +10.0 better with him off it (totalling a 23.6 differential without Love).

2. Lowest offensive rating of all players (105.8).

3. Bad Open shot conversion- 26.9% of his field goal attempts came off of open looks and 16.4% on wide open looks. With a eFG of 30.6% including a 20% conversion rate on open 3s, his conversion rate on open looks was downright awful. To his credit he was 50% on wide open 3s but they only made up 14% of his shot totals (one wide open shot made per game). Golden state clearly didnt respect his floor spacing if they were content to leave him open on over 40% of his total field goal attempts, a decision that was justified as evidenced by his low conversion rate. His floor spacing impact in the finals was overrated

Edit: Just to add, our ORTG with him on the court was 105, and with him off the court 123. Our offense was worse with him on the court.

Our defense was also better with him off. On= 119.5, off= 113.9

What are those numbers with Love on and Tristan off? Normally I’d do this myself but I’m in the car on an eight hour drive.
