I hope Toronto gets the 1 seed so us and Boston are 2/3....feel like Boston will be the easiest of opponents for us in the 2nd round. They are young and not battle-tested.

Kyrie just isn't a #1 guy on a successful team. He's not that kind of player. One of the most gifted scorers in the NBA in a long time, no doubt, but he's not the whole package. He needs a #1 like LeBron so that way he can do his thing on the offensive end but have someone else to rely on to lead the team.

I think we should change the title back to what it was before because they performed terribly with a positive title. Sports fan irrationality is my thing.

They got Kyrie on the Jump show today and what a dumbfuck he is. Even if you want to give him the benefit of the doubt he comes across so unprepared. He can't answer any question in a logical manner even though they're hand feeding him soft questions. What a schmuck he is.

Kyrie and Kobe really do have a lot in common. Both are a bit awkward as if they're not quite sure what kind of persona they should have. I'm guessing that's from growing up overseas. Both had dad's play pro ball.

You can see why he consults with Kobe. In his head LeBron is his Shaq in that he's getting the lions share of the credit. It's a shame because ultimately I believe LeBron was going to hand the keys to Kyrie in the next couple years.

Oh well.

I can't wait to bounce these guys out of the playoffs

Video upsets me,

if we managed to get him back to training camp could of resolved the issue.

Absolutely devastating.
Sure, maybe temporarily. But do you not think we’d be having the same issue with Kyrie this coming summer? Or the summer after that where he’d surely leave as a free agent?

Even if LeBron and Kyrie are cool, Kyrie and the people around Kyrie want him to have his own team. Getting along or not getting along with LeBron isn’t why Kyrie was traded.

This would have been his own team eventually. Lebron isn't going to play (or be the alpha) forever. Kyrie is a lot younger than him.

Remember two weeks ago how depressed Lebron seemed? Then in one day of trades everything is rosy. These dudes are fickle like that. Remember when Kobe Bryant was screaming to get traded? They didn't, and he won a championship. Paul Pierce wanted to get traded, they didn't and he won too.

Spilled milk and all that, but we can still look back and say patience would have been better.

I'm not too terribly sad about it....

That Cavs team came up pretty short in 2017, and LBJ isn't getting any younger. TT was already trending down, and I think the "Your turn/my turn" nature of our offense was wearing on some guys. For all his greatness on the offensive end, Kyrie's defensive weaknesses were a real problem given the lack of defensive prowess elsewhere on the team.

I personally like where we are now better, especially because it no longer feels like we're racing the clock trying to win before LBJ gets old. It just seems more entertaining/joyful to me as a fan having a future that looks better and still competing for a title at the same time.

Agreed. Before the trades I was hating life without Kyrie. Now for the first time in a while we have energy out there. We are getting the 50/50 balls and fast break points. This is a very unique team we have now.

We've only had two games but damn,it's been fun and promising.

Curb stomping the Celtics our first game with the new guys was much needed basketball therapy.

And Brooklyn pick:):git:

I fucking hated the trade, as everyone knows, didn't think we needed to do it in any way shape or form, but our haul at the trade deadline plus the Nets pick? Now I'm almost thinking we could come out ahead. don't think we could have gotten three of the four new guys without that trade, because we wouldn't have been able to trade our own first rounder. If things keep looking like they did before the break then we might have fundamentally remade this team in a way we've been needing to do for years -- youth, athleticism, defense, and hunger.

Still can't get over sending him to fucking Boston though

This just makes no sense.

They have a better record that us. He's playing with no real all-star, oh, a fake one in Horford. A guy that'd never been an all-star if it wasn't for their record. I hate this shit, where a guy makes it just because the team is playing well.

Beside the point.

They're playing .700 basketball, how is that NOT being successful as a number one guy? Huh.... Just because they're NOT good enough to win a title? If that's the case, then is LeBron not successful with that analogy?

Or is it because as the best player on his team, can't beat a LeBron James team? Bro, it's LeBron, he's not supposed to be better than the best player on the planet.

I remember many, many, hot takes on here that Kyrie could NEVER even lead a team to the playoffs. Now he clearly has, he could never be successful as a number one guy, and has, but we're going back to this flimsy argument.

If you mean he could never win a title as the best player on a team. Probably not, I agree.

But how many players do you think can in this league? I don't think its many at all.

Guys like Harden, Westbrook, Paul, and Davis haven't even come close yet. Guys you might argue could have, but hey, they've not even come CLOSE. Whether fair, or foul...

Guys like Steph, Durant, Leonard, and even LeBron, maybe the only guys I'd say that can right now for sure. Have done it with a lot of loaded teams.

I stand by that. If you consider regular season wins successful then sure, but we'll see what happens in the playoffs. I don't expect them to make much noise.
