This golden State level luck...wow

He goes from going to to the finals every year to being a part of the next team that will be going to the finals every year in the near future.

Kyrie was incredible last night. I cant't wait for IT to join up, but even after all the antics, you can't help but miss the guy.

I just can't trust a team with Horford as their go to big in the playoffs. I know he's a good player and all but the Cavs have just pwned own him thru the years

They're a bad matchup for the Cavs. The playoffs come down to how you match up, and they don't against us.

Our defense isn't the greatest, but it doesn't even have to be against Boston. They can't score enough points.

And as good as their defense has been, I mean come on, they're not going to shut down LB.

We have too many offensive weapons, to keep silent in a 7 game series.

They'd be a hell of a lot more of a serious threat if Hayward never got injured. I don't think they were every going to beat us, but with Hayward, yeah, I could definitely have seen it a tight series.

Even if Kyrie is great, don't think its enough. Still not convinced they even make it to the Eastern Conference.

I still the Wizards are more talented as a team.

They're playing above themselves. Kudos to them, but its a long season. I don't think they stand a chance at 60 wins TBH.

I had them under 50, it looks like they'll likely probably get over that mark though.

Their schedule hasn't been that tough yet either.

They have some good wins, no doubt, but they're playing a lot of teams they should beat too.

Who's gonna guard Kyrie? We don't have anyone who will guard him in a 7 game series. They can at least throw Brown on LeBron. We gonna put Shump on Kyrie if he's even here? Wade? Rose? ...........IT?

If kyrie is your mvp (at this point), what you're saying is, "all I care about is team wins."
Kyrie being top 6 overall in defensive efficiency is helping his case as well. Harden plays no defense. LeBron turns it on/off.

If his offense starts matching his efficiency + winning + narrative = Steph's MVP run in 2014/2015.

NBA.com has him at 8th in defensive WS. Marcus Smart is 1st, Jaylen Brown is 3rd, Al Horford is 4th and Jayson Tatum is 6th.

Like, I get it. The winning, the narrative, the fact he's trying on defense (somewhat), the comeback and clutch play... it's a familiar, if easy way out. I just don't see how he can be the MVP when:

1. He's basically just playing as a lesser version of himself and
2. He hasn't even really been one of the top-3 reasons they're winning.

I think a big part of the buzz, outside of Boston being 16-2, is that a lot of the familiar names seem to have disqualified themselves. Curry and KD are no longer in the running because they play together. Ditto for PG and Russ. It seems as though the media will never vote for LeBron again, and I don't know why they would as long as he treats the regular season as a warm up to the playoffs. Kawhi has been injured. That leaves... Harden? And who knows what'll happen there now that CP3 is back (my opinion: Harden has been the easy MVP thus far). Kyrie is winning almost by process of elimination.

I'm not saying he can't play himself into the conversation, though.

Exactly and people are trying to act brand new with the MVP award like they haven't been watching the league the last 20 years. The only reason Steph won his first MVP was because of his team record. They won 67 games. James Harden was the MVP that year. He carried them to the WCF with Howard in and out the lineup most of the year and his numbers were better. If Kyrie picks up his offense (which he most likely will) and BOS finishes with a top 3 record in the league and the 1 seed, he'll be the frontrunner for MVP unless James Harden goes off like Russ last year. And he'll be doing that after losing Hayward who people were already declaring as the best player on that team. He's not gonna get his props here regardless though for obvious reasons.
