I don't get the MVP discussions at all.
Its a media tool .

Anointing MVPS less than 20 games into the season. is just absurd. its one thing when fans are acknowledging a great performance but the media started mvp discussions 2 games into the season

LeBron continues to threaten Jordan's legacy, this is just another way to hate on LeBron. Their agenda is clear.

Exactly and people are trying to act brand new with the MVP award like they haven't been watching the league the last 20 years. The only reason Steph won his first MVP was because of his team record. They won 67 games. James Harden was the MVP that year. He carried them to the WCF with Howard in and out the lineup most of the year and his numbers were better. If Kyrie picks up his offense (which he most likely will) and BOS finishes with a top 3 record in the league and the 1 seed, he'll be the frontrunner for MVP unless James Harden goes off like Russ last year. And he'll be doing that after losing Hayward who people were already declaring as the best player on that team. He's not gonna get his props here regardless though for obvious reasons.

None of this is wrong, and it both depresses and annoys me that we haven't moved past this in 2017.

If the season ended similar to what it is like right now shame if Harden doesn't get it. he's got a top 3 team and leads to the league in PER, Win Share, Box +/-. He's also due as he's been a top 3 candidate the last 3 years.

I agree but unfortunately that doesn't mean shit.

They used to say Dale Earnhardt could see the air. Perhaps Kyrie navigates around the hoop sensing everyone's kinetic energy

You guys need to relax; he's not winning MVP. Boston is not going to even finish with the best record.

These premature talks of MVP, this early, is dumb.

Almost equivalent to talking about MVP in the NFL after two games being played.

The NBA is a long season. They got a lot of games left.

Hate to break it to some of you, but the MVP award has been a joke for awhile.

It's largely based off record, or just numbers like Westbrook put up.

I don't think for a second Westbrook was MVP last year. His season was actually pretty overrated.

Sure, he averaged a triple double, but also averaged 5 turnovers a game (that's awful). Wasn't efficient from the field.

Was fourth in win shares, 9th in RPM.

Dude was not the most valuable player last season.

It was actually LeBron. Despite the record bullshit, which the Thunders wasn't that great either.

LB clearly still had much greater impact than Westbrook.

Hell, Steph was deserving of it more than Westbrook, and I don't even like Steph.

When Durant went down they didn't miss a beat, because Curry, like him or hate him. I hate him, but he's still the best point guard in the league.

And it's not even close really.

Who wants to play a new game I like to call... Kyrie or Cult Leader?

Who wants to play a new game I like to call... Kyrie or Cult Leader?
Sounds fun. I'll start!

"To me death is not a fearful thing. It's living that's cursed."

Is that Kyrie Irving or leader of the Peoples Temple Jim Jones?

"The real strong have no need to prove it to the phonies."

Is that Kyrie Irving or Manson Family leader and serial murderer Charles Manson?

I hope you guys still have the same enthusiasm for the celtics come playoff time...

The second one is definitely Manson. Kyrie wouldn't use phonies. That's beneath him.

The first one... that's tough.
