Not really sure how Reddit works, but RCF is cited, if not the original author.

I have a real problem with this guy adding 0 of his own content and just copy and pasting likely without asking for permission. He could have at least posted his forum name. He's getting a bunch of reputation points for this post on Reddit as if he was the content creator.

Also I'm not s fan of content that was meant for us leaking out elsewhere. As much as I criticize Irving I like to keep it in house if you will.

This is probably a fan of a random team that just came here and copy and pasted good content to gain a bunch of rep off the back of one of our best posters.

I thought that's how Reddit worked? Whenever I go there to read other teams "forums," all I see are post titles, and when I click on them they're either direct links to the original source or copy/paste jobs with a link to the source. Rarely have I ever seen someone give proper attribution. But again, I'm not a Reddit user per se so I really wouldn't know what is the norm over there.

Well, you've been here longer than me so you know that anything posted on the open forum, outside of S34, is not only fair game but is spidered by Google.

Well, maybe it's just someone who has no idea about proper attribution, liked PriceFTW's content (who wouldn't?), and just reposted it ... Keep in mind, he does link to the site and original post, so it's not like he was trying to pass it off as his own original work.

Moreover, statistically (since that seems to be popular); Kyrie's recent play has extremely deviated from the very recent norm -- so it absolutely is appropriate to wonder if there is an injury that isn't being broadcast that he's just trying to play through.

Given that Kyrie himself, as well as RJ have stated Irving is dealing with being "banged up" and having issues of chronic pain in his repaired knee; I'm not sure why we would choose to ignore that fact?

Yeah, I mean, I don't get why people are suggesting we're looking for excuses. I thought Kyrie's knee was well documented. This has nothing to do with "letting him off the hook".

Hell, I've called him out for his defense, and rightfully so. Knee issue, or not...

However, he got blocked by Jeff Teague, twice, on a routine jump shot. How that doesn't strike anyone as odd, given Teague is smaller, and Kyrie is capable of creating space as good as anyone.

Not to mention, his three point shot isn't just off, he's literally torquing his body when shooting the ball, and does this weird follow throw like he's just aiming.

Either a good like shooter Kyrie has suddenly lost his fundamentals (which would be really strange); or something is not quite right with his lower body.

Shooting threes is all in the knees, and how he's shooting them of late doesn't make you feel comfortable if you follow closely.

Honestly, not trying to be a fear monger, I'm worried about his health.

Suggesting we shouldn't look to injury, when he's stated he's injured.. is more than a bit odd. But whatever.. :chuckle:

Suffice to say, we're not winning shit without Irving at his best; so we all better hope Irving is healthy come the Finals.

With that said, I don't think we need him until the Finals, so I'd prefer he be benched and rested until 100% healthy as @jking948 mentioned as well.

It feels like deja vu for two years ago. I hope he'll be fine, but April 7th was when it was really bothering him, he had plenty of time off too. And here we are, almost May, and it's still bothering him.

Sweeping Indy really was NEEDED though. Hoping he'll be okay by the second round. I say maybe we should just bench him game 1, even...

We need him right if we are going to win a title. If not, we have no chance. LeBron is great, but he can't literally beat SA/GS by himself.

Agreed, that's why it's likely best to just shut him down Durant style.. No need to play him unless he's 100%.

I hope they learned their lesson from last time; even though I get it he suffered a different injury. But we kept playing him when he had that toe/foot issue, then he ended up developing tendonitis in the knee.

Just have him ready for the ECF. I am hoping the Bucks win their series, I think that will be the easier series.

I know Lowry and DeRozan can play like bums in the playoffs, but all it takes is for them to suddenly not, and Toronto is a different animal. A team we'll beat, but they won't go down slowly.

Kyrie sitting until 100% is wishful thinking. 1. Because it won't happen and 2. It may not be enough.

Do you think the Bucks, Raptors, Celts or Wizards can beat us in a 7 game series without Irving?

I think the Wizards could, but that's not what I meant by not enough. I meant more rest may not be enough to make him him 100%. It may be something only an off season can help with.

Kyrie struggled with finishing around the hoop and with threes. He was excellent from 10-15 feet out as well as 16 feet out less than 3. From 3-10 feet, which is an area he historically struggles at, he was actually better than the regular season.

You mean over this past series?

All of his numbers are way off.. I don't really think we draw many conclusions other than to suggest that he's definitely not himself.

My take is that everybody is a bit banged up by this time of the year. Just re-watching clips it doesn't look like he is physically hobbled like he most definitely was two years ago. Now i'm no expert, but to me he looks physically fine. Every once in awhile you see him do a weird walk or shake something off after a bad play. I've noticed hes historically done this. In game action he is moving really well as far as i'm concerned. It's possible that he just isn't playing well and that happens. All of these are good shots in this clip other than that long two a step inside the three point line. That shot either needs to be a 3 or he needs to get within10-16 feet before firing that off. Also possibly that circus spin shot that was well defended, but at least it was closer range.

Whoah now, I think this is starting to get blown out of proportion. This looks nothing like it did 2 years ago when Kyrie kept trotting out there hobbled as hell. He might be missing a little lift on his 3 point jumpers and his finishes in the paint and yes it is having a bad effect. But the last time Kyrie was hurting in the playoffs it looked way worse than this.

2 years ago Kyrie was limping badly right from the start of games and it got downright painful to watch as he got worse and worse throughout the game.

What Kyrie has now doesn't look anything like that. He has the slightest of limps every once in awhile and that's about it. He has spoken about having "bad days" and anyone who has had major knee surgery can tell you nobody escapes those. Those make it harder to get loosened up, "start-up" pain, more painful to do certain things. But he is still very young and really in his case a nice rest should do wonders unless there is some underlying unresolved structural issue.

I'd use caution with him but he's going to play. We do have the luxury of DWill1 so I hope Lue shortens up Kyrie's minutes. But, Kyrie is going to play and he's going to get back to being his normal self.

To me it just looks like he hit a wall and his knee is a little sore. All understandable considering he's pretty much been playing the highest competitive levels of basketball possible since he returned from his injury 2 Decembers ago with no real break since then.

I hope you're right. I really do. I know we disagree on Kyrie's value, but if you're right, that means he should be able to get back to where he was last postseason - or hell, even this regular season. Without that, frankly, I don't know that we have a prayer of winning the title.
