good point on edge of the earth but more so, Kyrie goes to clippers, LBJ ends up with lakers....who is still second fiddle in that town. Cant see Kyrie wanting to go there.....which is why we should explore that option fully

Outside of Jordan & Beverly, who are both 29 now, the Clippers don't appear to be all that appealing of a trade option. The Clipper also owe a future 1st round pick to Boston, which limits what they can offer the Cavaliers in terms of draft picks.

Here's how I would rate the teams on the ability to put together an attractive trade package for Kyrie:

1) Suns- have loads of young talent, PG Eric Bledsoe, and two extra first round picks, courtesy of the Heat, at their disposal. The problem is the Suns appear unwilling to part with Booker, Jackson, or their own first round pick, which makes working a deal difficult.
2) Celtics- they have young talent, like Jaylen Brown & Jayson Tatum, PG Isaiah Thomas, and boatloads of draft picks, including Brooklyn's 2018 1st.
3) Sixers- another team with a boatload of young talent & draft picks to offer. Would they offer Ben Simmons in a package for Kyrie?
4) Blazers- there have been some rumors and a swap of Kyrie, Shumpert, & Frye for Lillard & Harkless is an almost perfect match under the salary cap.
5) Pistons- they could offer an enticing package headlined by Drummond and including a point guard (Jackson or Bradley) and perhaps a wing (Harris or Johnson). This is a team that could use a makeover.
6) T'Wolves- and potential deal begins & ends with Andrew Wiggins, who is on the verge of signing a max extension. The Cavs would likely want something else from Minnesota and would want them to take back a bad contract in any deal.
7) Bucks- their interest level seems low, but they could offer a package of Brogdon, Maker, and a vet, like Middleton, Monroe, or Henson.
8) Heat- could offer a package of Dragic, Winslow, Adebayo, & a future 1st.
9) Hornets- could offer Kemba Walker & MKG, although the franchise seems to really be committed to Walker & vice versa.

In the end, I'm sure the Cavs prefer to send Kyrie out of the conference and it would have to be a slam-dunk deal to send him to a conference foe, especially a team, like the Celtics.

K-Love is will not make up for the loss of Ky as much as people are saying he should blow up more with Kyrie gone, he will remain who he was.
You know this how?

I think I would puke if this trade happened
What was your reaction to witnessing us get murdered trying to out-gun the Warriors a couple months ago? I'd guess close to puking...sure was mine anyways.

We NEED a playmaker on offense for Kyrie, if that can be packaged with key defensive guy(s) that would be awesome.
So give us a reasonable trade scenario where we end up with all these things (outside those already discussed ad nauseum in this thread.)

why would bron need to score 55 a game? Our offense has never struggled at all without kyrie. Him being on the bench or out injured for a bunch of games we've been fine.

Kyries offense is valuable against the warriros but thats it in terms of absoloute need. Bron would not have to do anything crazy other than his normal game.

We have enough offense its time to try some defense.

Problem is the Warriors switch almost everything aside from Curry, which makes it more difficult to score against them in ways other than ISO.

He is a 20/12 player over the years (sometimes a little more sometimes a little less), to expect him to be anymore than that is just unfounded. Those are great stats, but it will not replace Kyrie. He also is 28 years old (Aka not a young buck anymore) and has a big lack of mobility already. To expect him to become something more than he is is just naive.

My reaction to us getting butt-effed by GS was yes, sickening. But there are deeper issues than lack of defensive presence, and taking away our 2nd biggest offensive threat and not replacing it will make the situation worse.

I cannot give you a reasonable trade scenario, unlike the fat basketball nerds in here I do not pretend to be a General Manager in my wildest fantasies. Even though my first inkling was to get rid of Kyrie as soon as possible, I'm now erring on the side of keeping him until the best possible deal arises from a team that cannot risk waiting any longer - a team that needs a game changer on their team (which Kyrie has proven to be).

Did Josh Jackson just let slip something to the Suns' detriment? Josh Jackson himself said no one from the Suns told him he wouldn't be traded, which condradicts previous so-called confirmed reports that Josh Jackson was told he wouldn't be traded. The Cavs will get Josh Jackson and it's only a matter of time. I still think the Suns offer Bledsoe and Jackson at the last minute before the start of training camp to see if they can avoid including the Miami first-rounder the Cavs also want. Kyrie for Bledsoe and this year's number 4 pick(which turned out to be Josh Jackson) without the Miami pick was a predraft threeway trade rumor to ship the number 4 pick to the Pacers for Paul George.

Jackson also added that no one in the Suns specifically told him the trade was not going to happen. But Jackson seemed fine with this since the deal never really got to the point of really being possible so that the Suns would need to reassure him like that.

No potential frameworks have been reported on any front so far, however we do know one player who will not be included in any potential Cavs-Suns trade. According to a report from John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM, and later confirmed by ESPN's Ramona Shelburne, the Suns will not include Josh Jackson in any Kyrie Irving trade, and have assured the No. 4 overall pick in last month's draft of that fact.

I heard the interview, which is posted to the Hoopshype site and Jackson says no one from the Suns ever told him that he wouldn't be traded.

Of course....Suns told his agent, his agent told him! Thus he honest in saying no one from the Suns told him :)

Kyrie Irving is not going to push the Suns over the top, but instead to 45 win middling junk. They are building around Booker and Jackson. Will get another shot at the lottery next year. The only way they get in with the Irving deal is a 3 way which Bledsoe is included and Kyrie is sent elsewhere.

I would look at teams that are close to winning and want to make a move to enhance that.

Agree. And I think people are still under the assumption Kyrie matches up well against GS.

Not when he defends as shitty as he did in last year's finals. His 30 points a game were empty numbers.

This is why if we trade Kyrie, do it in the sense we get better defensively. Offensively we will take a slight hit, but not to the point I feel it cripples us.

The Cavs offense will still be fine. The defensive side of the ball is why we're so far off from winning a title.

I still like this trade if Suns are truely not giving up Jackson or Booker!

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ydhxqkro

Cavs get: Melo, Bledsoe, 1st from NY

Suns get: Ntilikina, Frye, 1st from NY

NY gets: Kyrie, Shumpert

-Gives Cavs a replacement PG and also a guy like Melo to fill the points gap from losing Kyrie.

-Suns go young with replacing Bledsoe with Ntilikina and also gain a pick

-Kyrie to pair with unicorn for NY

Well looks like Irving isn't going to the Suns now is he? The Cavs have the upper hand no matter how many media outlets and pundits claim they don't. Irving is under contract with the Cavaliers for another two years. So the Cavs WILL hold out what they want for irving, and if not Irving stays here. Pretty simple

Its like people don't realize Bledsoe is a 20 point scorer who plays D or something. Suns aint giving him away for nothing.

Problem is late in the games.

When teams double or send late-doubles on LeBron, to get the ball out of his hands, we would be screwed. They don't do that now because we have Kyrie. Without Kyrie, it would be similar to 2007-2010 Cavs where its LeBron or bust!

That is why I want someone like Melo along with a Bledsoe + Josh Jackson!

For all his flaws, Melo would get us buckets. Especially in clutch. Something we also need.
