Larry Drew - Cavaliers Acting Head Coach

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ferry -> Grant -> Griffin -> Altman

Dan Gilbert's conveyor belt of madness. Fire a guy then replace him with his subordinate.

Rinse. Wash. Repeat.
How many teams have great GM’s. A handful. The teams that have success and win championships are big market destinations where stars want to go. We lucked out with LeBron that’s all
What small markets teams do really well. Pacers , bucks. Okc maybe blazers. Fine none of them expect maybe the bucks are a true contender. League is becoming 4 globetrotter teams and 30 Washington Generals

I agree with this, the league is becoming a joke, But I still think a good GM is a must for small market teams. If the Cavs were able to hold on to Carlos boozer long enough for LeBron to hit his prime, I think we would have won one earlier.
The most important thing though is we MUST hit on all our draft picks.

Presti was a great talent evaluator but his coaching hires really undermined the rosters he put together. The Bulls and Knicks are fighting us for Zion currently and haven't gotten a big time free agent in a long time. Chicago drafted everybody they had when they were competing and traded for rotational players. The new recipe is to tank, hit on a pick or two, trade assets for another star then use that to attract a third star regardless of your market size with the main variable being an owners willingness to spend (Cavs model 2011-2014 with which included multiple misses but enticed LeBron enough to come back)

Perhaps if the Mo Williams\Benedict Boozer eras had collided. As efficient as Boozer was on offense, I doubt he alone would've made a difference in the 2007 Finals. Timmuh was his kryptonite.

Boozer had a pretty narrow window of effectiveness

He did, but at least he would have been with the Cavs for it. Perhaps he could have been an element to trade too.

The front office’s handling of LBJ early years was criminal.
He had a fantastic 07 playoff run. Definitely would have been an upgrade over Drew Gooden.

This guy can ride off into the sunset and never come back.

Can't wait to hear some of the coaching staff stories from this season after they're all given the boot....
