I cant either, but i do get his point on Lebron's son. Not many super famous kids succeed in basketball beyond roll player, but it might have to do with how rare a true super star is than anything else.

In basketball Bonds son was better, Griffey too, and Football has the Mathews family, Mannigs, etc, so it is possible.

The thing that is amazing is how LaVar says it and the fact he is such an asshole to put it the way he does.

But it's pretty much a statistical fact that it's highly unlikely for the son of a truly great player to surpass their father. I mean, Lebron is a top 5 player in NBA history, basically the winner of a one in a billion genetic lottery. What are the chances of winning that lottery twice in a row? With a global talent base and 400 NBA players, if his kid is just a one in a million talent instead of one in a billion like his Dad then he might not even make the NBA.

Absolutely. His son could even be an allstar and not sniff Lebron, because only 4 guys or so have in the history of the league? It is a dumb argument.

The dell Curry thing makes more sense. A roleplayer goes through the NBA and can spend teh money to correct the mistakes he made and his son can get the best of everything and can become a super skilled player along with the suitable physicality to play.

For as much of a dickhead as LeBron has always struck me as, he seems like a good father who wants what's best for his kids.

You could easily replace the word "dickhead" for "human" though. Only difference with LeBron is his fame and people holding him to standards which they don't hold themselves too, which is rather obnoxious don't you think? But then again, being obnoxious is also part of being human. There are no answers to this thing we call life, its just a sputtering madness our consciousnesses have been temporarily cast in to, and deep down we're all a little fucked up about it (or majorly fucked up about it). Knowing things like this one can start to have compassion for others and understanding for their faults, as well as face themselves honestly.
