If you want to get real technical, he does travel. But there would be a travel almost every possession in the NBA if they called what he did.

I can guarantee it with 100% accuracy that the NBA is going to make it hard on LBJ and the Cavs this season due to the "resting/days off" fiasco and completely disregarding the regular season.

If the Cavs win it all this year, then that means the 82-game season is a joke = nightmare for the NBA.

There is pretty much no trade I'd accept for LeBron. Even multiple players.

Including the Durant+ Curry one. Durant and Curry don't win you a championship together without Draymond and Klay. LeBron wins you a championship with one other star and strong role players. And he'll be able to do this for another 3-4 years I'd think.

Plus in the twilight of his career he'll probably be able to attract serious talent to the team just because he's who he is, while still being a tremendous leader.

As a GM my job is to win championships AND I'm selfishly trying to preserve my job. Curry and Durant don't do that. They're not championship guys on their own.

Lost in a game thread a while back was a very brief exchange predicated on a moronic comment (IMO) made by Van Gundy. He said that the Cavs would send LeBron packing if Golden State offered Durant + Curry.

Would you take that? I'd reject it in a flat second and I think this organization would to.

LeBron and Draymond would literally annihilate Steph and Durant. They would annihilate the entire league. Bron and Draymond at the 4/5 with Klay and two other shooters? Forget about it. Would be one of the best teams of all time. Would be the #1 offense and defense without all the postseason choking that Durant and Curry bring to the table. LeBron ad Draymond would literally wreak complete havoc defensively, and offensively, everyone would be open all the time.

I hate Draymond but he's a gamer and without him , GS would be way too soft, SA would murder them. He anchors their entire D and is an offensive X Factor.

Exactly. Won't accept a KD + Curry for LeBron trade.

Getting KD & Curry means, our line-up would be something like this:-

Kyrie - Curry - Durant - Love - TT.

That is weak as shit defensively. KD is a good defender but he can't marshal and organize a defense like LeBron can. And none of them as as good a playmaker as LeBron. More importantly, its just not balanced at all. Four high volute shooters. We have tough time finding shots for three. How do you satisfy four?

On the other hand, Warriors would end-up have a small-ball line-up of:-

Any Decent Shooter - Klay - Iggy - LeBron - Draymond.

Good luck defending that and scoring against them.

The only time I would accept a LeBron trade is if we can get someone like AD/KAT + Kawhi + Wall. And even that, I would do it very sadly because it would suck seeing him in another uniform once again.

You forgot all the articles today randomly focused on what Pat Riley felt when LeBron "betrayed" him and left for Cleveland.

Of course they aren't a playoff team. All 3 of their superstars are no longer with the organization. I'm not sure what your point is there.

I give Pat Riley some credit for realizing how big LeBron's return really was and understanding it from a standpoint bigger than simply basketball.

It looks really hypocritical for Cavs fans of all people to judge Riley's initial reaction...

Great for us.. bring it on. We all know while Lebron keeps of Social Media he gets to know all this stuff... He made them look horrible last year and will do so again this year..

it would be crazy to trade Lebron, basically regardless of the offer they should just hang up. Now that he has returned, the connection between Cleveland and Lebron is special and historic. You just don't give up your franchise connection to a top 5 player in basketball history. It's been about 20 years since Jordan left the Bulls but he is still part of the mythos of the franchise. The organization should do everything possible to ensure that Lebron retires in a Cavaliers uniform.

My point is simple: this is a bizarre time to bring up these Pat Riley upset at LeBron stories. It's not like the Heat are playing the Cavs or are even in the playoffs. It was spurred by an excellent Wright Thompson article but the media is running with it.

As for your other point, I have no issue with Pat Riley being upset. He and Arison handled LeBron leaving pretty well all things considered. Riley may have made a few comments that LeBron took issue with but it was night and day better than what Gilbert did IMO.
