LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The only missed opportunity on Wiggins/Love is that Lebron, had we tried to keep Wiggy, would have been more forced into the 4 as the ultimate stretch-4 sooner rather than later. But James wasn't big on that, he wanted a 4 who could spot up and shoot, mix it up so he wouldn't have to as much. I wonder if Lebron even comes back if the Cavs weren't committed to moving Andrew for Love anyway.

Water under the bridge.

Couldn't agree more! That's exactly where he needs to be ...it shouldn't be as big a deal from his perspective if they could pair him with an elite defensive center to lighten the load.

I also wouldn't mind seeing him at the one and surrounding him with lengthy 3&D/2-way players at all other positions. They wouldn't even necessarily have to be other stars. Just capable of switching everything, high BBIQs, and able to hit open shots. Kind of like what Milwaukee is building around Giannis.

I never felt like James makes a good PG. a good playmaker, yeah, but not a good PG. I know it's like splitting hairs, but Lebron stops the ball too much to be a legit PG. He doesn't like to make the pass that initiates an offense, would rather make the pass that leads to the assist. It's a different mindset.

Why couldn't Wiggins have played the SG position? He's going to be doing it now with Butler on the Wolves.

There is no way the Cavs trade for Love without LeBron coming back, with the salary and age difference, not to mention Love had only one year left on his deal.

That's what I meant: Love/Wiggins was known to be on table, Cavs told James in meeting (that didn't happen) in Miami w/Gilbert and James. James said, "I'll come back, make that deal."

IF Wiggy stays, it's KI, D-Waiters, Wiggs, Lebron and TT (and 28% from the 3 point line). Bonus that you also get the pleasure of the jack-knife Anthony Bennett missing open jumpers by 6'.

Anyone else seen LBJ's Instagram story? Where he's "dressed up" as an alter-ego - Big Taste - for a Sprite commercial?

Sounds a little familiar.

I think Wiggins actually has a higher PPG at SG than SF. He averaged like 26 or 27 points.

Until Wiggins becomes a legit plus defender he's going to continue to basically be a whole lot of empty scoring and nothing else.

His playmaking/vision is extremely limited. Doesn't seem to have a nose for the ball as a rebounder.

His efficiency offensively may get better, but never elite, and without those other two skills, there's only one way for him to be a true impact.player and that's to play both ends of the floor. He's got the right coach to do it. Undoubtedly. But does he have the IQ? That's a fair question still.

He's never even had 1 year that was even as good as Loves worst year as a Cav, especially impact wise.

You're talking about a 22 year old kid who just averaged 24 PPG in his third season as though he's capped & won't round out the rest of his game...

Why? Do not understand the constant Wiggins bashing around here @ all

It's not so much that people want to bash Wiggins, it's that they don't want to discuss him at all. He was traded 3 years ago for a proven all-star and we won a championship, which was the ultimate goal.

Debating whether or not we should have kept Wiggins is a fool's errand and those in favor of it need to get over it.

Thats the biggest point of them all.
We never had 3 years to spend of LeBrons prime, wasting it waiting for Wiggins to "round out".
I'm still waiting for Kyrie to round out.

Kyrie is still waiting for the earth to round out..

The way I read your post was acquiring Love without trading Wiggins. So KI, Wiggins, LBJ, Love, TT lineup, which I don't see why that would be much of an issue to play Wiggins at the 2 in that situation.

Wiggins is that type of guy that thinks that basketball is only about scoring, "I Scored 23 today I did my job, I'm not the reason we lost how many points did you bums score"?

Completely clueless about playing team basketball, defense and rebounding, those 3 things will always be way more important than the number of points you score.

This is a problem with many young guys, in fact, they often don't learn the truth until it's too late. I will say this about AW, at Kansas he seemed willing to defer to others, so all hope is not lost. He has a veteran team around him now, I wonder if that will help him take the step forward he's needed to take.
