LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I dunno..I was with you on that opinion every year before this year Gus.....

but this year there is something distinctly different about LeBron's poor play streak. Something oddly deliberate. It's closer to the stretch of games that got Blatt fired...or the inexplicable series against the Celtics in 2010. When he had clear agendas in mind that he used his play as a form of protest to further.

LeBron's play in the 2nd half was not just him being tired, sloppy, lazy, or "off". To an extent...he's very deliberate about what he's doing. Who knows what the true 100% real motivation for it is...but it's more than just "eh....Bron being Bron in January!!"

Beyond all the frustration and conspiracies it is also true that he needs a rest. Normally by this stage of the season you would expect him to have sat for 3 or 4 games. A game like tonight would have a been a prime opportunity if the team was not in a tailspin.

This group needs the All Star break today.

What's your guess?

Getting Lue fired?

Forcing Dan to move the pick?

Something else?

Everyone keeps using the word "agenda", but they're taking Lue out of context. His whole talk was about team play. He didn't mean that there are shady backroom deals happening.

He said:

"It's not you're guarding (Victor) Oladipo or I'm guarding Oladipo, we're all guarding Oladipo. It's a team thing. So 'Oh my man didn't score, but he scores.' No, that's not team basketball. We've got to get back to that helping the helper. A guy goes to help and then you help him."

and he ended the talk with "if guys have agendas, we've got to get rid of our agendas and play the right way."

I've heard coaches say this sort of thing a million times. "Lose the agenda and play as a team".

Amazes me so many are willing to give him a pass, just because he's LeBron.

I don't care if its LeBron, or Calderon. It's one thing to just be bad, or just not be good.

But to literally just dog it, not give effort, and just flat out wing it out there. Pretty inexcusable to me.

It's stuff like this, that has a lot of people struggling to put him ahead of Jordan.

Because IMO, LeBron is the most talented basketball player we've ever seen. And when he wants to be, he probably is the greatest of all-time.

But goes through these weird mood swings, where just he's just filled with drama. And it at times carries itself on the court.

It's like dude, just knock it off. Go out there and be the leader this fucking team needs you to be!

Think he knows how obvious he was tonight.

Except, within a few days of that “agenda” quote, anonymous players on team were quoted as saying “LeBron is fishing for assist stats. He’s holding ball too long waiting for guys to come open in scoring position”. And then data came out that proved it.....

I’m not sure this is a “get Lue fired” motive....I think he’s passive aggressively tanking the team based on things he doesn’t like within the organization and that includes players taking shots anonymously.

And I wish he’d keep his mouth shut about Kyrie and not wanting to trade him....how does that make Isaiah feel as he tries to get his game back?

Hmmm...

Leforcing us to bring in more talent is my guess.

LeBron's chill mode is nothing new, maybe it is just chillier this year partly due to pressure from the Warriors and partly because Gilbert's confrontational "the pick is insurance" and signs of wanting to reduce the payroll. LeBron picks his spots, lays back and demonstrates what kind of team the Cavs are without him, like he's saying "Let's see what y'all can do without me." He doesn't put forth effort and makes careless plays, but it is more passive than active sabotage. This makes the regular season very frustrating for fans, but for me making it to the finals the past three years more than compensates for the frustration. I really think he wants to stay, but he also wants Gilbert to put forth a good faith effort to give the Cavs the best chance to win the title. Too bad these guys have zero trust in one another, but yeah it is what it is. I'll take it.

One other thing I noticed in regards to the team....

After LeBron threw the crosscourt TO, and a subsequent time out was called, Lue was drawing up a play, and multiple Cavs players went to do a “huddle break/hands in type deal” and LeBron wanted zero part of it. In fact the team just kind of disbanded around him based on his non-verbal cue of “nope, not doing this team unity shit right now”.

Maybe it was his turnover right before, but the body language he put off, and basically breaking the huddle of his own volition was kinda shitty.....

Much like the game against Golden State, LeBron stopped rolling to the basket on pick and rolls with IT...

I keep harping on this play, I know, it's probably getting old at this point, but...

Was LeBron doubled? Yes.

But for as smart and talented as he is, he didn't know Green's man came to double him and didn't see Jeff Green flashing for a wide open shot?

Instead he threw a terrible pass to Love while Gordon's eyes were pinpointed on what LeBron was doing. I buy maybe he didn't see Gordon peeking, but missing Green seems odd for the kind of basketball acumen LBJ possesses.

This is just one of several plays down the stretch that were real headscratchers.

--------

Hopefully whatever malady LeBron is going through passes soon.
Or the least the malady can do is to make a better pass than the one highlighted above.

His agenda is very clear, Hes the guy who "anonymously" said that we're not good enough this year and it will be close to impossible to beat GS, he wants them to use the nets pick and get a serious piece, this is his agenda.

Too bad his agenda isn't to fire Lues retarded ass, but I guess LeBron loves having a useless shill he can slap around at the helm, basically being the defacto head coach of the team.
