LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Lebron with that Philly lineup would be absolutely fearsome and there will not be any problem with Lebron fitting in. We have to count on his loyalty to Cleveland and his pride, not some idea that he couldn't play well with the best rookie to enter the league since Anthony Davis. If Philly goes to the Finals this year, especially if they beat us, he may consider it too Durant-esque to join with them. Plus he doesn't have the excuse he had the first time, of needing to win a championship and having zero talent to do it with.

Philly with Lebron and Houston with Lebron are like the only two franchises that Lebron could instantly make *at least* as good as the Warriors, without needing any other players to come. If Embiid stays healthy I think Philly plus Lebron are better than the Warriors.

If Embiid stays healthy

That's a pretty big if. There was a realistic chance he was done for the playoffs altogether this season.

RGM has gotten unreal with the over-the-top LeBron hot takes. The biggest facepalm was lakerz12 saying that we can no longer use the "Pippen went 55-27 without MJ" argument because Kyrie just went 55-27 without LeBron, not to mention we might not be able to use the "MJ lost in the 1st round and Bron didn't" in a few days. Of all the false equivalencies I've heard in or outside sports... :banghead:

LOL, the Bulls *team* went 55-27 without MJ. What would the record of the 2016-17 Cavs have been without Lebron?

Adding both Kyrie and Jayson Tatum improved the Celtics regular season record by only 2 games, from 53-29 to 55-27.

And when you factor in the key games Kyrie has missed, and his unexceptional individual value on the court by most advanced stats this year...

"Kyrie Irving literally just led the Celtics to 55 wins :chuckle:" :banghead: https://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1699451&start=220#p65475613

This is just wrong. Spo one hundred percent ran a system in Miami. And LeBron benefitted from it with his most efficient years ever. Whether they were actually better than the Cavs is another issue altogether. But the Heat had an offensive system which consistently generated good looks.

I also laugh at this comment time and time again, the is parroted again and again on sports forums with no basis in reality. Just because you see some low % of ISO plays when LBJ played in Miami doesn't mean that was the whole system. On the contrary like ACisKing stated they ran a pace & space read and react offense with robust play calling as a supplement. I believe this is a narrative that has been injected into the subconscious of NBA viewers by people like Skip Bayless and SAS. Does Lebron handle the rock a lot? Yes he does, but mainly that is because is the only real competent person to run and organize the players on the floor outside of the set play calls.

Add to the fact that the heat were top 10 on the defensive end almost all of the years of the big 3. It’s comparing apples to oranges with the cavs. Especially this year.

Lebron is a beast off the ball.

You just need people that know how to get him the ball. Delly and wade were the only cavs players that knew how to do it.

giphy.gif

Delly-Lebron high pick and roll just below the 3pt line, defense hedges, leaving Lebron open moving to the basket where he is able to use his elite passing ability to find Channing Frye for a high percentage corner three, as the defense rotates to cover the strongside Delly-Lebron action

giphy.gif

Delly-Lebron high pick and roll at the top of the 3 point line, defense switches, allowing Lebron to call for the ball and isolate on the mismatch, as he drain a nice fallaway Jumper to end the half

giphy.gif

Top of the key Delly-Lebron screen and roll, the roll man pushes up hard to cover Delly at the 3pt line, leaving an open rolling Lebron who lays it up for an easy 2

giphy.gif

Delly-Lebron high pick and roll, defense hedges and promptly switches, leaving a rolling Lebron on a much smaller defender, able to use his strength to catch clean possession and throw the lob down

giphy.gif

Delly Lebron high screen and roll, defense hedges, Delly threads the pass to a charging Lebron down the middle of the key, last line of defense big is caught having to respect Kevin Love in the corner, which causes the rotation and rim protection to be late

giphy.gif

Double Kyrie-Lebron/Love screen and roll action top of the key, causing Kyrie's and Love's defenders to hedge, leaving Love open at the three, forcing Lebron's defender to rotate over, leaving a rolling Lebron to the rack for a jam

giphy.gif

Interesting play here. Not a normal high screen and roll action, Love's defender gets caught sleeping trying to provide help on Kyrie, Love flares to the top of the 3pt line, Kyrie passes the ball to Lebron who is in a big man roll position at the free throw line, forcing Lebron's man to shoot out and cover Love at the 3pt line who receives a pass from Lebron, who then receives to straight back on a roll to the hoop, where the center has to rotate over, prompting an inside Lebron pass to Mozgov for the easy dunk

giphy.gif

Kyrie-Lebron high pick and roll at the 3pt line, defense hedges to cover Kyrie, leaving Lebron open at the free throw line, who pops for an open 18 footer

giphy.gif

Irving-Lebron screen and roll on the wingm defense hard hedges Kyrie, leaving a rolling Lebron to the hoop who passes to JR open at the corner for a high efficiency 3pt shot, due to the rotating defense covering the rolling Lebron. A great example of how the Lebron Roll Man dynamic allows for his elite passing ability

giphy.gif

Kyrie-Lebron high pick and roll at the top of the 3pt line, defense slightly hedges, leaving an open rolling Lebron who scores on the easy layup, too quick for the rotating interior defense

giphy.gif

Lebron passes to Delly on the wing, prompting Lebron to set a screen middle, defense hedges middle to cover Delly at the 3, leaving a rolling Lebron, who draws the foul on the drive to the hoop

giphy.gif

Delly-Lebron screen and roll on the wing, defense gets caught trying to hedge, Lebron catches open, rolling to the rack, drawing the foul with the spin move attacking the rim

Here's some Roll Man Lebron plays from his game today against Chicago

giphy.gif

Delly-Lebron high pick and roll, defense hedges Delly middle, leaving open rolling LBJ who catches, performs a spin move on the drive as the last line of defense rotates to protect the rim, Lebron threads a bullet pass to K-Love in the corner for a high percentage open 3pt shot

giphy.gif

Kyrie-Lebron high screen and roll, defense hedges Kyrie middle, leaving open rolling LBJ who catches, drives to the hoop where the defense has collapsed to protect the rim, swings a pass out to Love at the corner, who pump fakes, drives in and dunks the ball. You can see the utter chaos and wreck that a rolling Lebron does to defenses

giphy.gif

Delly-Lebron baseline high screen and roll, man defender gets caught on Lebron screen, roll man defender doesn't push up, waits to contain Delly drive, defensive switch occurs in this possession, Lebron is open on the roll for an easy jam to the hoop as the switched defender is behind and too slow to stop the drive. Poor defensive rotations by Hawks to protect the rim (Or lack thereof)

giphy.gif

Delly-Lebron high pick and roll top of the 3, roll man hangs back and switches to contain the Delly Penetration as the ball defender gets caught in the ball screen, Lebron rolls to the hoop and catches an easy alley oop pass for 2 points

giphy.gif

Lebron does a hand off to Delly from the middle going sideline, then Lebron sets a ball screen for Delly going back middle, the ball defender gets caught in a quality pick, and the roll man defender switches over to contain the Delly drive, who lobs the ball up for a rolling Lebron, who makes a bullet one hand pass to an open Love in the corner due to the weakside defense rotating over to cover the Lebron roll... Love drains the three... Perfect example of how Lebron still uses his dangerous passing and efficient scoring without having to shoot jump shots playing outside in as the ball handler all the time

giphy.gif

- Great Delly-LeBron High PnR founded upon a great solid ball screen by LeBron , which got Delly's man defender caught, forcing Carroll to contain Delly's penetration, leading to an easy oop for a rolling LeBron... Threat of shooters on each side of the court... Deadly play; the Middle PnR with spread shooters

Was Lue the coach for any of these clips?

Somebody ran into his face? We are surely not blaming him for Fultz storming into him? Embiid was set for 73 games this season until that incident and he didnt play back to backs until February.

Idea of him being injury prone is overplayed at least recently.

Was referring to the "one more hit could cause permanent eye damage" headlines more recently, that led a lot of people to believe he'd be shut down out of precaution.

No one is saying he is to blame "for Fultz storming into him" but rather in his ability to recover from said injuries.

"At least recently" is still a pretty big qualifier.

LeBron once again did absolutely nothing in the 3rd quarter.

I mean, what in the actual fuck? Is he trying to sabotage himself out of Cleveland?

Pacers were defending him well, tbh.

They were collapsing the defense and have one or two guys near the paint always whenever he was posting up or got switched on to a big. That created lot of open looks and Bron passed to the open men but we bricked.

Once Korver starting hitting few shots in the 4th quarter, the game opened up a lot more for Bron and he could attack. He can't just bamboozle past couple of players consistently like he used to. Has to rely on his jumper.

LeBron needs to pull the chair on Bogdanovic when he just puts 90% of his body weight on him. It’s ridiculous that Bogdanovic can just lean on him constantly like that and not get called for a foul.

The man played 47 fucking minutes what more do you want out of a guy look at the rest of the team
Dude, he needs to do SOMETHING in the 3rd quarter

He's fresh coming out the locker room, there's no fucking excuses

If he's gonna do nothing then he should check himself out of the game

Nah man. There's no excuse for doing nothing in the 3rd quarter, AGAIN, after what happened last game.

His teammates scored 19 points in the 3rd. He scored 1 point.

There's no defending it.
