LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well, that sucks. I'm an eternal optimist, though. Get two back home and make it a 3 game series. Bron responded, though. Damn.

They totally fell apart under adversity last night. Hard to watch for sure.

Yes, individually and collectively. LBJ ate that hit, the pressure came on and it unraveled. Love had a bit of a burst in the 3rd quarter to hold it back for a few mins but the dispiriting part is how little like a team they looked. Adversity unveils truth in sports and by the end they were playing against themselves as much as the Celtics. Morale is so fragile with this lot.

Just letting anyone know when they type about how they want LeBron gone to start over.

If LeBron leaves? That is the end of any championship this team we will see for at least a generation of so.

When people type this thinking "Well! We can draft "x", "y" and "z"", then contend in the east!"

Not going to happen. When he leaves? We're done. No more national tv game, division titles, conference championships...and (without saying) no more chances at the O'Brien.

Done. You are now the Bucks, Pacers, Post-Jordan Bulls or any of those other teams that have been seemingly "lost" in the mediocre NBA wilderness.

NOW...I've accepted that because I don't have any other choice in the matter. But...I'd rather find ways to crack the window open just a little longer.

Again, I'm willing to (I say this while gnashing my teeth) put up with the drama because...that is the only way we will see this team relevant.

And when he leaves? (whenever that will be..) You had BETTER be ready to "trust the process" for a few years...because that tank will be on a monumental scale. I think Nance Jr. and a few others would be the only ones left on the roster at that point.

Again...You will be the Pacers/Bucks/Post-Jordan Bulls. LeBron is a generational figure. The odds of finding someone close to his abilities would be a miracle.

I totally agree with you. Do you think we are back in it in 2 years? 3? 4? What is the Cavs path back to contention? I don't think the Cavs are contenders this year. There were 2 Houston and GS.

So, yeah the team has a top 3 all time player, but in the current climate it isn't enough. There were times wher eit looked like if they could just get their act together this team could do something. Can a coaching change and an added allstar do anything?

There was one contender this year, imo. I think the people who thought Houston could compete with Golden State were lying to themselves. They just wanted someone to take them down.

I mean on paper they are very talented. They have 2 bonafide stars and 2 really high level guys in Capela and Gordon.

It wasn't lying, you still have to play the games. It's not over yet, but I can see the rest of that series playing out like game 1.

LeBron is in a tough spot here professionally and Windhorst mentioned this in an interview. He's not trying to experience fit issues in Philadelphia and Houston having two guys with similar usage rates isn't going to work. I don't think a new coach will be able to teach an old dog new tricks especially when it's a player of LeBron's caliber so modern day motion offenses would be tough for a guy who walks for 75-78% of his on-court time (stamina isn't what it's been in the past and this is clearly evident on defense...sure he STILL improves our defense but it's a steep hill to climb from the 2nd worst defense in the league).

LeBron should fancy himself as a PF during his next stage but I don't think he is willing to let go of the ball. He has always envisioned getting off the ball but does he actually want to make it happen is the question.

You'll be irrelevant for a decade.

Barring any set backs. That's how long you will be out of it before people start discussing you as a playoff "dark horse"

This is in a scenario where you find a great coach, draft well (better than fucking 8th overall), land on some Kyrie, Tristan and other type of figures in the draft.

Even then? The odds of hoisting another banner are quite slim because this is how the NBA is designed.

Because you need a Magic, Bird, Jordan, Olajuwon, Duncan, Shaq, Kobe, Garnett, Kobe, LeBron, or Durant type of figure to pull that off.

And those are...unicorns. You have to be a bad team, at the right time, and right place. Otherwise you're stuck with Anthony Bennett instead.

You forgot Al Horford...

Eh, you're saying all this like it was never an inevitability. We all knew that this was eventually the price the franchise was going to pay for "going all in", and we were totally okay with it...it's just looking like a reality a tad sooner than you hoped/expected.

Most surmised when this shit came together that we had a 3-5 year window, and we're right smack dab in the middle of it. Of course we'd all like to extend it if possible, but the bleak reality is that at best we're contending for a distant 2nd place.

While multiple titles would have been nice, a lot just didn't break our way. And if it has to end like this, it'll be bitter, but I can at least take solace in the fact that we went all in on a limited window of time and capitalized.

We can try to kick the can down the road depending on what LeBron wants to do, but if this is it, it was a great run.

Yeah I was really hoping to get him at least a 2nd title here, if not a 3rd just so we can at least stop the idiots from looking down at his career. (HE'S NOT JORDAN!- says the guy who's never played a game in his life or have seen LeBron single-handidly destroy a reputation that the cities sports had)

It's not even from the stand point of you know, Joe Steelers fan or Chowd Red Sox fan just constantly wanting titles to hold over people. (btw? Those people I just typed about? They're losers. When you claim a team accomplishment as you're own? You're an asshole) It's pretty much for LeBron at this point. For all of the effort I've seen that guy put in for some...wasted seasons...I want to see him rewarded with at least 1 more.

We got ours. The city got ours. He gave it to us. He deserves a couple more for all the effort he's given.

Yep.

It's in his court.

Either we're bracing for a tank with the 8th overall, Nance Jr, Cedi, and Zizic as the first set of pieces...orr....We're trying to find a way to turn this into a title team somehow to compete with GSW.

Yup. They all sure love knobbing Durant don’t they?

The NBA media is trash for the most part.

Unless it's on Turner Sports? it's not worth watching.
