LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yup. They all sure love knobbing Durant don’t they?
The NBA media is trash for the most part.

Unless it's on Turner Sports? it's not worth watching.
For example, KD (was great in the game though) had 0 assists 5 turnover and -28.

LeBron's -32 from game 1 and his turnovers/trying to carry the team was knocked for game 2.

Yet I guarantee no topics will lead with Durant being the reason they lost today. No one talking about Durant setting the wrong tone for the game or not getting his teammates involved, etc etc

There is this warped view going on with the media lately.

Sometimes teams get outplayed and its never one guys fault (could say the same for winning too)

Just letting anyone know when they type about how they want LeBron gone to start over.

If LeBron leaves? That is the end of any championship this team we will see for at least a generation of so.

When people type this thinking "Well! We can draft "x", "y" and "z"", then contend in the east!"

Not going to happen. When he leaves? We're done. No more national tv game, division titles, conference championships...and (without saying) no more chances at the O'Brien.

Done. You are now the Bucks, Pacers, Post-Jordan Bulls or any of those other teams that have been seemingly "lost" in the mediocre NBA wilderness.

NOW...I've accepted that because I don't have any other choice in the matter. But...I'd rather find ways to crack the window open just a little longer.

Again, I'm willing to (I say this while gnashing my teeth) put up with the drama because...that is the only way we will see this team relevant.

And when he leaves? (whenever that will be..) You had BETTER be ready to "trust the process" for a few years...because that tank will be on a monumental scale. I think Nance Jr. and a few others would be the only ones left on the roster at that point.

Again...You will be the Pacers/Bucks/Post-Jordan Bulls. LeBron is a generational figure. The odds of finding someone close to his abilities would be a miracle.

Your right, but that is the reality we are going face either next year or three years down the line.
I am not convinced LBJ in 2-3 years is going to be able to carry a team.
Coming back for one year is not going to do anything because no stud will come and sign a max deal if they think he can bolt next year.

When he leaves no max star will play in cleveland. There is no doubt of that

We have to build with the young players we have, zizic, osman, nance, draft pick..and trade love, korver, JR, hill for as many draft choices as possible and we need to nail those picks like GSW did.

Highly doubtful that all works but it is all we have

Decent article on ESPN referencing the organizational fatigue. It feels like both sides need a fresh start. As long as he doesn't go to Philly or Houston, I'll be fine.
This kind of statement has never made sense to me. How does an organization get “fatigued” competing for championships every year?? I mean, isn’t that what you play for?

Can you imagine the Spurs organization ever saying something like this? I’d understand if LeBron felt this way solely because of his unparalleled heavy workload on this team, but if the feeling is mutual by the Cavs then they come across like losers.

Especially considering that most of the guys haven't been around for this entire ride... it's really only JR, TT and Love that could make this claim.. and Love missed one of the runs with the shoulder. I too don't understand this statement.

Having read the article, it comes off as more referring to the constant soul-sucking of assets, any young players and draft picks that the franchise has in order to "Win NOW!!!!" at all costs.

You don't get what they mean by organizational fatigue. Lebron forces "win now" mode by being non-committal with his contracts. Miami had a "luxury" in having him committed to four years. The best we've gotten is two! Win Now mode means trading draft picks for veterans and not developing young players. In that situation, the chickens will come home to roost (as they're starting to this year for the Cavs), and couple that with "chamionship or loser" expectations and organization fatigue makes perfect sense.

Did the Spurs go into that many seasons over their incredible 21 year run with the expectations that they are either champions or losers? During the Spurs' run, there were 1st round exits and plenty of years not making or winning the Finals. During that window, I counted four years in which the Spurs didn't select a player in the first round. The Cavs have selected one under Lebron. The Heat selected one under Lebron. That's two first round picks in eight years, compared to 17 in 21 for the Spurs.

Well, not everyone reacts to events/situations the same way. For example, I personally have "fatigue" from all the drama that has surrounded this team for years. To me, it sucks a lot of the joy out of being a fan. A fresh start wouldn't bother me in the least even if our chance of winnng a championship in the foreseeable future is reduced.

But that's personal to me, and I know some other fans think that is nuts. Point is, different people - including NBA players and staff - can experience the exact same thing, but have very different reactions to it.

And there's no arguing about it - it's like arguing which flavor of ice cream tastes the best. There isn't a logically "correct" answer as to the "right" reaction.

No. But then, other than this one year with Kahwi, they haven't had anything close to the drama we've had.

Can we talk about how clearly concussed LeBron was after that collision and how his aggressiveness and decision making plummeted afterwards? I still think if we hold serve at home the gut wrenching King Punch is coming in Game 5. He has another gear left.
Yes, it was evident. He was not the same after that. Crucial moment in that game.

Organizational fatigue seems obvious. LeBron demands the "All In" thing by holding contracts over the team's head, demanding high contracts for "his" guys, forcing the team's hand into trading for vets instead of developing youngsters, etc. It worked - we got a championship here - but only one. He also will never take a lower salary to allow the team room to sign star players. The Spurs are a bad bad comparison. Their guys played for less, they always developed young talent, and their stars allowed their management to do what they were paid to do. Granted, their management was better than ours by a long shot, but they would have been in a much harder situation if Tim Duncan would never sign for more than a year, and was always hinting at going elsewhere. LeBron will have been a big part, in both the 1st and 2nd runs with the Cavs, as to why they have only one once.

Completely agree. I think LBJ would have 1-2 more rings between his first and second stay here if he had committed long term. 4 year deals. Not these 2 years win now mode.

We will have three decent young players hopefully in zizic, cedi and the pick. If he comes back for 1 year or even 2 those three will be traded to bring in another veteran. If it doesnt work LBJ will leave and we will have to bring back Jamario Moon or someone

I know if he leaves we will not be winning any rings for a long time if ever. Frankly, we are not going to win any rings if he stays. I do not see how we turn what assets we have and expiring contracts into all stars And then you got TT' contract taking up so much cap room.
Love will have to go but he ain't bringing back anyone much better

Then you got LBJ going to be 34 next season. It is obvious he is starting to slow down a little, many breaks on defense. And you have a coach who feels he has to use him 46 mins a game. And you can partly justify that because everyone plays like crap
we can cut lbj minutes next year but how that does make it better?

time for both parties to move on IMO

LBJ definitely shares in the blame, no doubt about it. But in fairness we had some really bad luck.

The 2015 team almost surely wins a ring if not for injuries. Take the 2nd and 3rd best players off the Warriors against our squad fully healthy and we sweep them. The 2017 team also was historically great, probably wins a ring in almost any time frame but goes up against a 70 win team that added KD due to an cap spike that will never happen again.

If not for those 2 things, which again you rarely if ever see the 2 best players on a title team go down nor see a team that good sign an MVP for free, we are probably sitting on a 3 peat.

Damn did I love that team. I think we would have rolled them that year in 5, MAYBE 6 fully healthy. Everything was clicking for that squad and the Warriors weren't ready.

Would've felt a hell of a lot better about the state of things moving forward had we at least repeated in '15 and '16.
