LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No it's about people saying the Cavs hedged this season and you saying "hurr Durr who could they have traded the pick for??" when in reality there was a better winning route available from the jump.
What are you not understanding here? The principles of linear conversation seem to be utterly lost on you.

The rest of us are talking about trading the NETS PICK...you know, the one that was acquired by trading Kyrie to the Boston Celtics. That's fine if you believe that we should have traded Kyrie to Milwaukee, but it has no place in the discussion that the rest of us are having.

I already went out of my way to mention @cavsfever, another board member who I'm quite sure would love to join arms with you and wail at the stars that we didn't get Brogdon and Middleton back for Kyrie. As for myself, I will not be ululating with you.

Howard Beck on the Herd just said GS and Boston are completely off the table. Colin also said he got word from someone in Bron's circle that his wife wants either LA or Cleveland - prefers where they have homes, friends, family, social circle, etc. He also said for LeBron it's purely a basketball decision and he'll have the final say (obviously).
Not sure I buy that someone from Lebron 's circle let that out to anyone at this time..
I can see his wife saying that but I think that limits the decision...and his final say isn't just purely about basketball as he's already stated it's about his family.
I will say this..if he does go, I hope he goes out west so the Cavs don't have to face him but twice a year.

Man fuck LA....maybemay should see if we can raise enough money to put up a banner or something to get him to stay ... :doh (31):

Also Bron going to the same Conference, Division, and state as GS just seems unlikely to me but what do I know

Part of his rationale might be would rather lose to them before the Finals than the Finals, getting to the mountain top and taking loss after loss takes its toll. People already constantly bring up "3-6".

Not quite, the original post you responded to was about not trading the Nets pick to beat the Warriors. But the same underlying cause remains. The Cavs tried to hedge in a year where the Warriors were eminently beatable and we have to live with wasting a whole year and a legendary playoff run because of that. Stop getting so hung up on the Nets pick just because you don't have any better response to most posters' main gripes about how we didn't even try to go for it this year.

To be fair though, Lebron can only put himself in a great situation by sort of pre committing to some team.

If it’s the Cavs then his first priority would be to convince Paul George or cp3, even if it’s a remote chance.

Lebron has to know the Cavs have some good options. The 8th pick and love are good-not great-pieces.

Nance and cedi are solid pieces. And zizic is a decent piece as well....

You can leverage those pieces for middle tier all stars like Kemba Walker, McCollum, lillard, hell even john Wall.

So it’s a matter of how many middle tier all stars can we acquire between giving up our four good assets, sign and trading a friend of lebrons, and deficit spending by taking on bad contracts in exchange for good players.

But if Lebron really wants cleveland or just wants to build the best possible route to multiple titles then he sort of has to pre commit to somewhere.

Impossible to eliminate roster risk without

Getting in to the finals year after year keeps your name atop the mountain top.

2nd round losses in the playoffs-gets the he’s not the same he used to be chatter going.

And if he goes to LA he’s staring at a second round loss.

They need more than Paul George and Lebron to turn them into a favorite out west.

They’ll have to package ball, kuzma, Ingram for another stud. Question is how do they build depth and have at least 3 top bananas on the roster?

I think Lebron wants to break Bill Russell's record of 10 straight Finals appearances. That would be an epic achievement and the most attainable epic accomplishment for him given that 6 Finals MVPs might be out of reach for him now. I'm pretty sure that given that he has made 8 straight Finals he doesn't want to break the streak just to avoid another Finals loss.

Amazing there’s not an ounce of chatter on any of these free agents...

It’s radio silent right now-no real leaks or intimations. No evidence of any upcoming meetings. Nada

I think Lebron George and a few other guys are really hashing things out behind the scenes.

It's weird for this discussion to be in this thread, but let me tell you what I think:

Yes, I believe we could have had a chance to win this year if we had Kemba. The Warriors looked beatable and LBJ was on such another level. At the same time, we don't know if we would have won. We also don't know how high the asking price was for Kemba. And I don't mind having our assets still in hand with the opportunity to get even better players like Paul George or Lillard.

We have as much flexibility as we can possibly have right now. But this is what it is all about. We have to cash in big now before free agency or we can look back and say we really messed up. Still, you run the risk that Kemba wasn't enough, we have no assets left, and you basically force LeBron out the door at that point. Now, we still have a chance to make a lot of moves.

I really hope his thought process is not based on the lowest common denominator set.
