LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm not really sure why some people think this is LeBron "retiring" or what not... He just finished an all-time great postseason run. He's the clear cut #1 player in the world. I don't think he's giving up anytime soon..

Well, they mean it in the sense first of all that Father Time is undefeated, and that at this age and mileage Bron could drop pretty drastically all at once, despite playing close to his peak right now.

Second reason is the "going to be tough to beat GS anyway for years, so why not raise my family here and prepare for the movie producer second career" one that's been covered.

Lebron will be fine let that man go off in the sunset or whatever in peace. He got his ring here now the Cavs are going into a new direction time to move on...

When Lebron signed with the Heat in 2010 I said he’d come back to Cleveland one day.

I believe Lebron will be back to Cleveland again. Call me whatever you want. I’m not changing my wallpaper again because I know within time, we’ll all be Witnesses Again

I also think he may end up back in Cleveland, but his contract will make it more difficult. Unless he's still playing at a high level at 37, no one is going to take that contract back from the Lakers. So, I think it will have to be in 2022, assuming he has anything left.

As far as fans welcoming him back, that shouldn't be a big issue. If we got over 2010, then we can get over the much less acrimonious 2018 exit.

Do you really want him back for a Kobe tour when we should (hopefully) have a good young core that's fighting in the playoffs at that point? I thought it was sickening watching Kobe chuck up all those shots every game at his age, a full year of it, while the young players just sat on the bench or fed him the ball. It was a fcking joke.

Next time LBJ comes back home I want it to be because he wants to be part owner or in the front office.

If LBJ still has value as a player and the self awareness to fill a role, then yes. No on the Kobe tour.

I don’t want him stealing minutes from up and coming players in 2022. Hopefully we will be competing again. The only way I’d take him is if he came off the bench.

The Kobe tour was sold as "well of course he's not worth $25MM/yr at this age, but we're making up the difference in ticket sales and showing our loyalty for when the next great comes." Ironically, it might have helped LeBron come there on that last point.

LeBron going on a retirement tour here may actually help much more on both fronts because he's the only Cav ever to be on that level, while Kobe is just one of many.

I do think he will continue to play beyond his 3+1 deal, but he has a career-ending goal of playing with his son Bronny, assuming he's good enough to play in the league.

The only time in LeBron's career, we'll ever see him take less than his market value, is when he joins whatever team Bronny is drafted too.

I guess my point being, the only way I ever see LeBron re-joining CLE, is if we draft Bronny in 2022-2023....which puts LeBron at 38 years old.

Kind of odd that this leaked to me....not that this is unusual for coaches to do, it just kind of undermines Luke Walton before the season even starts, IMO.

Ty Lue has accepted a dinner organized by the Lakers to discuss how to coach LeBron. Will be attended by Walton and Brian Shaw, his lead assistant coach.

Ty should probably tell Luke, “if you follow my master plan, LeBron will be leveraging a move to the Clippers by year 2 of his contract”.

They love Kobe.

That's the beginning and end of it.

There's never any mention of Shaq (a better player), Kareem or Magic by their fans. It's always Kobe.

Frankly? Fuck Kobe.

I'm wishing LeBron the best, I really am.

But I can see this marriage ending badly and crashing to the ground within 2 years.

We know what this is all about, but still.

What’s the point in helping another team like this? Focus on what we need to do in order to get better.

Kind of my thoughts too.....at least publicly.

I have some history in high level sports, and coaches/organizations do shit like this all the time. I’m surprised this dinner leaked though.

It makes Luke Walton look a little soft IMO, and it makes Ty look bad in the sense that LeBron isn’t his player anymore. Let the Lakers figure it out. Should we send a shooting coach to LA to help with Lonzo’s jump shot too?? Why are we helping LA with their transition to the LeBron era? It’s bizarre to me.....

The Lakers can have all of our coaches as far as I'm concerned...it will make them worse and us better.
