LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I can see LBJ back in Cleveland, but his contract makes it pretty unlikely before the summer of 2022. He's a physical freak, but I'll be surprised if he isn't overpaid baggage for the Lakers on year 4 of that contract. If he has anything left to give, maybe he can come back on the MLE at age 37. I'd love to see a strong team led by a peaking Cedi, Sexton, Zizic, Nance, and so on, with grandpa LeBron along for the ride.

If he does come back I bet he will ask to be traded or sign and traded with no discounts. He probably will want another 4 year max. It will be like the last years of Kobe. If we have a competitive team, I would just pass on him coming back at 37 unless he is fine in a Vince Carter like role and with that level of pay.

Yup, don’t fault him for leaving but let’s not pretend this was hard or not planned for awhile. He wanted to live in LA plains and simple.

This crap about him saying today he is not ruling out playing in a Cleveland again is funny.
Wait, he is actually saying that again?

I think it'll be a bit different from the last years of Kobe since LeBron would have to come back to have a Cleveland farewell tour. The Cavs won't be in the awkward situation the Lakers were in of giving in to Kobe's demands or pissing off an irrational fanbase. In the LBJ scenario, I hope the Cavs' FO would tell Lebron he can take fair value or nothing. Let the Lakers deal with it.

It'll be interesting to see how his body holds up over the next four years. I'll be surprised if he is much more than a late career Vince Carter when 2022 rolls around. I hope he stays healthy long enough to become the all-time leading scorer.

One of the other differences is that we benefit much more from from a farewell tour because he is by far [yes, by far, sorry Kyrie] our greatest ever, whereas Kobe is just one of many greats in the purple and gold.

We stand to gain a LOT from "doing him right." Ironically, as bad as the finances of the Kobe tour looked originally, it probably helped a bit with LeBron for that reason, without getting into the economics of whether they made up for the tour cost in jersey sales.

I take LeBron's end-stage "albatross contract" form every time.

Only reason I don’t see LBJ coming back is because I think his kid could perhaps make it to the league and I believe he’d want to play on his team, regardless of who it is ?

True. If Bronny turns into a first round pick, LeBron will go to the team who drafts him. If he is a 2nd rounder or undrafted free agent, then LeBron might pressure the Lakers or Cavs into taking him.

I think everyone needs to slow down with this bronny nba stuff. Lebron is putting a ridiculous amount of pressure on this kid. Fuck the name stuff. Multiple times now he has acted as if it's a foregone conclusion that his son will be in the league(publicly).

He's fucking 13.

By the time LeBron finishes his career in LA, he will have put thousands of kids through High School and college on his own dime, be worth billions of dollars (Springhill Entertainment is already starting to blow up) and he's already laying the groundwork for a future political career. It's all coming together for him the way he wants it to......

Oh it makes me cringe...

But the reason I believe it’s a legit shot is, well, Coby Karl made it...:chuckle:

Pretty sure Bron Jr right now is better than Coby Karl has ever been...

Unbelievable... :doh (1): Who voted for this guy? :chuckle: And why does he think he's smarter than LeBron?

P.S. I'm not an American so forgive me if this is a sensitive topic. It just looks so surreal when the president is using twitter to single out some of his citizens as dumb.

Trump's MO is that once someone attacks him he punches back. He also watches CNN for some reason. James has called Trump a bum and other names. Point is, there's nothing surprising here.

Without getting too much into the recent events, one thing that comes up because of LeBron's "sit across from" comments, and is understandably a concern in the "disinviting speakers" era, is the idea that he simply won't listen to the other side altogether.

That's simply not true. LeBron is close with Spencer Hawes and they have frequently debated current events and such respectfully.

I’m surprised it took Trump this long to say something negative about Lebron. Lebron has said many negative things about Trump in the past 2 years. He basically said anyone who votes for him is stupid. I’m totally fine with Lebron voicing his opinion and I’m totally fine with Trump voicing his. I did think it was pretty lame for Lebron to say he’s never sit across from the President. That think is exactly why Republicans are in charge and will win the mid terms this fall.

You know what is really the scariest thing? that we are getting desensitized to a president who has to tweet something nasty in response to any criticism of him- and by the way I heard the interview with LeBron- he was absolutely correct in what he said about Trump's interference in sports and how the president is so divisive. He can't keep his nose out of things that he has no business getting involved in and using tweeting and his big fat ugly mouth to stir things up. and we the people are getting used to it- it is now the norm.
