Lonzo Ball

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Stats helped tremendously by a furiously high pace and absolutely no defense whatsoever.

That was like a summer league game. It was awful to watch.

If Lonzo ain't going to be a bust, atleast we know he is busting his ass out there

That walk though.

Man the way he moves is just wrong. his whole body is just out of sorts. knock kneed and hip wiggle

His body looks very weird to me. Never seen a basketball player with that sort of build. His shoulders and legs look very odd.

But yeah, his foot collapses along with his knee.. that can;t be good.

His stance, particulary on defense will get him torched againt any dynamic PG scorer.

Everyone gonna be so salty about this kid succeeding.

I think he should be separated from his father. He doesn't seem anything like Lonzo at all.

My only concern with Ball is his shot. It's a bit unortodox. It's why I wasn't in love with him as a prospect.

Everything else, I think he's legit. He's a true point guard, he can defend, he can rebound well for his position.

If he can end up shooting at a high level, he will be an all-star in this league, IMO.

I just think Tatum and Jackson will end up better players. This was a great draft though IMO.

A bit unorthodox??? :chuckle:

I doubt he has the athleticism to be an All-star. Either you are up against elite Olympic level athletes like Westbrook or Wall or scoring machines like Curry.
Think he's got more of Livingston vibe

Maybe he''ll get that fg% up over 35% next game.

Strictly from a basketball standpoint, I'd LOVE to play with this kid. Always looking to pass, doesn't force dumb shots, looks to push every time, makes early passes, rarely puts you in a position to fail when he gives you the ball. A point guard in the truest sense of the word.

Ball can sure ball against the Suns and other terrible tanking teams. Let's see what he does against contenders.

...Really ? He's a 19 year old rookie & you want to reserve judgement on him until you see how he plays against the Clevelands & Golden States of the league?

Give him props, he can Ball. Hell of a True PG, has a ton of potential

The key to my post was everything you left out. I see a useful player who may not always be a true point guard because of his body type and lack of penetration off the dribble. Boris Diaw, for example, had an offense flowing through him for a bad team in Atlanta when he was young but they lost a lot of games. He was better as a small forward after perfecting his stroke from the outside and developing as a rebounder further.

I like him, surprisingly. The circus his Father creates could lead you to assume that Lonzo would be all ego, ball-hogging stat padding, me me me. Not true at all, love to see a kid who comes in this team orientated, not your typical AAU produced one man army Alpha dog wanabee who needs about 3 years to learn to play.

I like his poise, shooting poorly but still keeping his head in the game and making smart plays Needs to fill out, put some muscle on that skinny frame.

I don't think Lonzo could lace up the sneakers and go drop 10 points even if he wanted to. When he bricks, the ball goes clank, I never saw the ball go in and out.

Hell of a passer, and hell of a rebounder for his position, dude needs to work on catching and shooting and of course shooting off the dribble, don't be worse than Rondo. He's only shooting a solid 31% from the field, 23% from 3pt. Sample sizes sure, but his scoring ability is challenged.

He was a good shooter in college and HS, I think its him being a bit unlucky and adjusting to the NBA range as well, because the shots he taking are open shots, hes just missing right now but I think he'll be fine and eventually he'll get conformable and start hitting em

What I do like is that even though hes missing hes still taking his open shots and doesn't hesitate that's a sign of a confidant player, I think hes going to be a very good player his vision for a 19 year old is special.
