Luka Doncic

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Luka could go 0/100 from 3 tonight and he'd still be shooting a better percentage than Trae :chuckle:

“The thing with Luka, he’s a great player,” Young told Sports Illustrated. “I don’t understand why it can’t work out for both situations. I hear [Atlanta made a mistake] all the time. Luka’s a great dude, and I think he’s going to be a really good player. But at the same time, I’m going to be a better player. Just because of my ability to stretch the floor, get others involved, I think I’ll be better.”

When that article was written, he was shooting 28% and actually dropped to 24% from three while Doncic stayed the same at around 38%. A man named Steve Nash won 2 MVP's without being a chucker and I think he can be this generations version if he dropped his Curry routine.

Nash had 11 assists, shot over 50%, 44% from three, but wasn't a chucker. Trae is so far from nash right now. The one thing he has in common is neither play a lick of defense.

Nash is a tricky guy to compare to since he didn't really look like anything special until his 5th season in the NBA, at age 25. So in that sense, Young has plenty of time to get his shit together and become a useful player. Of course, on the other hand, most players who get off to terrible starts don't magically transform into stars four years later, so clearly the odds are stacked against him at this point.

Nash wasn't great as a rookie tho

I refuse to answer that I’d lean towards fox though

Luka all day , a year younger than Fox and putting up pretty much identical numbers in his rookie season when compared to Fox's second year.

Sergio Lull getting injured last year and forcing Real to use Luka as it's full time point accelerated his development imo.

Fox is a special player you have to account for his defense he should make the all nba defense team this year. And with the way he’s shooting I’ll take Fox and not look back

Fair enough. I probably wouldn't trade Sexton for Luka either.

Just teasing...

Just looked at the 2017 draft. If Fox manages to sustain his current efficiency, an argument could be made that he's currently the best player of that draft, even better than Tatum/Markkanen/Mitchell.

As long as we are generally discussing how Luka compares to other players, Bagley is looking pretty damn good too. I don't think the Kings are spending a lot of time looking enviously over at Dallas.

Bagley is ok, doesn't look like a bust. He's lucky to have a PG like Fox to set him up. But Luka is a different caliber prospect. Luka should have been picked over all three of Ayton, Bagley, Young.

Would you rather have...

A. Luka

B. JJJ

C. Any three of the other 2018 draftees?

That's an interesting question. That's how far ahead of the field Luka and JJJ are.

I'm really big on Luka and would got that route but option C with being able to pair Bagley, SGA and Porter Jr together would be tempting based on potential.

On a side note the Kings need to play Bagley more than 22 minutes a night kid is at 12pts 7rbs 1ast 1blk on 52% and 36% from 3 and should get some run next to Cully Stein and at the back up 5 as well (should getting 5 of the 10 minutes Giles currently gets)
