That's how.

I wouldn't even call it a comeback. It was an implosion by NIU. Like this is what a 5th grade team trying to break a press vs. a high school team looks like. Just unreal.

I initially only saw the last play of regulation (jump pass/attempt to throw it off a TAM player) and thought "WTF just throw it down to the other end and time will basically be expired" and then I found the whole video, and it was the second time that they had done that! Holy shit what a terrible display of basketball.

TAM only had to make one shot that wasn't a layup or free throw to tie the game. NIU gave up the ball and then let them walk to the hoop.

Dude was pushed out of bounds (I absolutely HATED this when I played basketball) and that 3 pt play was very questionable

After two extremely fun days on Thursday and Friday with small school upsets... this weekend took us back to chalk city. Saturday was a day full of blowouts. Yesterday had some exciting games, but unfortunately in the waning minutes of the UNI-TA&M and SFA-ND game we saw these underdogs who played 39 minutes of great basketball have to overcome the opposing team AND the refs. UNI did themselves no favors by melting down, but as you mentioned Washpun for UNI was basically mugged and that 3 point play was soooooooo ticky tack.

SFA had two really egregious foul calls go against them as well that gave ND opportunities to get one last opportunity, and we saw how that went.

All those upsets on Thu/Fri and the only "Cinderella" remaining is 11 seed Gonzaga. That's great if you're power conference guy, but having SFA or UNI around to create some buzz for the Sweet 16 would've been fun. Too bad the refs had to go corrupt for CBS and their ratings.

Good for Syracuse & Boeheim. I didn't like the witch hunt the NCAA did to them. Awesome to see them not skip a beat and make the Final Four. Fight the power!

Just goes to show you that a team can have a weak case to make the tourney and still go on a run. Those aren't mutually exclusive.

On a semi-related note, I've never met anyone that's ever had a nice word to say about Boeheim. Guy is a dick. But he can coach (and it helps when college kids freak out when they face a zone).
