Kyrie got hot and hit those threes in the fourth...

But at no point in the game did I see him ever attempt to be the bad motherfucker we know he is. I never saw him get a chance to attack relentlessly in PnR& Isolation.

Maybe we were sending too much help at him all night(he better get used to triple teams though...)

but he looked neutered offensively.

The problem is, that Boston really doesn't have a lot of floor spacing. And Kyrie reverted to playmaking role. I give him credit for trying it, and yeah, he had 10 assists, and made some solid plays, but he's not elite at this.

But Kyrie, more so than LB even, needs floor spacing to excel. He doesn't have super playmaking skills like LeBron does. He can shoot well, but his bread and butter is always breaking down the defense. That's what he does best. By far.

With no Hayward, man, there's no one that you consider not helping off to contain Kyrie.

Brown got hot tonight, not sure he can be THAT much of a threat.

I think Boston's entire season/expectations badly was destroyed tonight with Hayward going down.

Still a playoff team? Sure, but more like a bottom of the barrel team than the second threat they thought they'd be this year.

Who knew Kyrie's ability to be a leader would be immediately thrown into a furnace? I think watching this game, Smart ended up establishing himself as the leader on the court while Kyrie pouted and tried to mentally bounce back.

You can change outfits, but it takes more than that to change a personality. LeBron learned that his first year in Miami.

You know I wish he hadn't said some of the stupid shit he had said, because I imagine the boos would have been significantly less.

Like Delly and Moz both got standing o's, applause when they came back. I imagine Kyrie would have gotten the same had he approached things in a better way.

Also...damn, how many bridges did Kyrie burn on his way out?

I think how he played game us insight into what we was saying

He didn’t just leave for more shots. Most the game Kyrie basically let the Celtics get theirs. I actually thought for most the game he was way too passive

I think we had the perfect game plan for his skill set. He wants to expand his skill set but I think if you are the 2nd best scorer in the league and you are on a team with now no other scorers and you aren’t taking a high number of FGA you are actually hurting your team. It’s just ironic that he left here because we weren’t using his full skill set but now he basically has to be Cavs Kyrie for Bos to score enough point to stay in games smh

Even with Hayward, I think this BOS team was a 4 seed. They're still an all-star away from being consider a legitimate threat in the East. Outside of Hayward and Irving, there just isn't enough reliable talent yet. Sure Jaylen Brown has a lot of potential but he's still light years away in the b-ball IQ department. Tatum looked the part for about a 5 minute stretch, typical of a rookie, and Horford's game has been on a steady decline since he left ATL. Their roster just doesn't stack up to the Wizards, Bucks, and Raptors, top to bottom.

You'd think Kyrie would've played with a bit more intensity on the defensive end but everyone was getting buckets on him. Their biggest weakness is leadership and Irving won't provide that.

I doubt it. The boos were coming down no matter what. Delly and Moz didn't force trades out of Cleveland. In Delly's case he left because the Cavs didn't match the offer. Entirely different situations than Kyrie's.

In spite of all his flaws, this kid's game is aesthetically pleasing. He's such a smooth scorer. Losing hayward was tough but it gives them something to rally around. Would love to see kyrie be a shooting guard exclusively and having smart to pair with him is ideal. A big guard that can defend multiple positions.

I know it is taboo to root for opposing teams, especially boston, but kyrie still holds a special place in my heart. Against any team i would be cheering for him, but against us he's the enemy.
