I wish Marcus Smart would have been a Cavalier. And he was so gettable too.

Terry Rozier would have been very nice too.

Bah.
Based on all the evidence we have before us, I'd be very skeptical going forward taking on a player who thrived under Stevens' system.

Yeah, sure, but his defense is something. I think his defense made average defensive players like Crowder and shitty defensive players like IT look better than they really are.

Rozier is also someone that brings it every night. He has skills, he is super athletic, he defends very well and he shows promise. He isn't the most consistent, but I can see him fit almost everywhere.

As far as Horford goes, I don't really agree with godfather. I don't think he is a fake all-star, I think he is a legit good player that does a lot of great things on the floor on both ends and a lot of them go unnoticed and are not tracked.

I'm not sold on Jaylen Brown at all yet.

But yeah, Kudos to Stevens, the guy clearly knows how to develop and put his players in the best position in order to become successful.

I'm jealous of their coaching tbh.

What do you consider "successful" to mean in the NBA? The Hawks won 60 games in 2014/2015, and the Raptors won 56 games in 2015/2016, but I wouldn't really consider either of those seasons successful.

The Celtics have one of the best coaches in the league who has implemented a great system. They finished first in the conference last year with Isaiah freaking Thomas as the #1 guy. You could say that Boston has overachieved this year, but I believe that has more to do with Stevens than it does Kyrie. He's a phenomenal scorer but he's not a #1 guy on a successful (by that I mean championship contending) team, and I'm sticking with that opinion.

Bro, you said he can't be successful as a number one guy. Your words, you should clarify what you mean is all.

I disagree, that just because you can't win a championship, as the number 1 guy, that means you're not successful at being a number one option on a team. Is having a winning record not successful?

And how does it have more to do with Stevens, when the Celtics are on the pace to win more games, than they ever have since Stevens has been the head coach there.

Stevens is a great coach, I give him a lot of credit, but no, he doesn't get ALL the credit. Makes no sense. You still need some players, to have some success in a league where players have to play.

They're not on pace to win more games than when IT was there, no?

If you meant a team that can win a title, yeah, okay, but again, there aren't MANY players in the league that can.

So that's hardly a knock on Kyrie. There's only a handful of game-changing franchise players in this league.

It was always obvious that Kyrie was better than IT. I actually got a ton of disagrees early in the season for stating this obvious truth. We should have tried everything to keep Kyrie. He will be in the hall of fame someday probably. We didn't, it's water under the bridge now. At least we're out from under the horrible Celtics trade and have some OK young talent and some plus defenders. Now we'll see if Lebron can still drag a team to the Finals without a second high-level star as a running mate.

Jalen might've did something very serious. They brought a stretcher out.

Marcus Smart torn tendon in thumb ~ out indefinitely

Kyrie has a ailing knee ~ considered day to day, Stevens did mention he wants him right for April, so it could be week to week.

With that said, I doubt they lose their 2nd spot.

Boston should shut him down for the season. They're not winning a championship. Let him and Hayward get healthy for the start of next year.

Right now it looks like the doctors want the screws out of his knew and those may be causing the inflammation. If he gets them out then he's done for the season.
