Matthew Dellavedova

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Looks like Delly might get replaced by their rookie in the starting lineup soon...dude put up a TD last night. Most Bucks fan have been clamoring for it too.

Delly for Dunleavy, who says no?

Both teams. You don't give up on a deal you just made 25 games into season 1.

I don't think Brogdon is going to replace Delly this season.. next season maybe. It will happen though.

Too much focus being taken for a meaningless game in which players are focusing on New Year's plans, family and not actual games

Huh?

Maybe he isn't a traditional point guard, but Milwaukee is using him very well and getting their money's worth while the young future of their team learn how to win. Hope he gets his outside shot going again.

Told you he was going to be benched for Brogdon eventually. Came sooner than I expected because of an injury.
So Delly is back to square one lol. I bet he would rather backup Kyrie than backup Brogdon, plan did not work.

He's now earning 9 million a year. That is a huge raise over his previous salary here. Seems like the plan worked reasonably well.

Obviously it's a huge raise but I think his main consideration was being a starting pg.

I disagree all his comments point to him wanting to sign long term here but once he got the QO and the cap jumped he realised he had to move on. I'm sure starting was a great compliment but delly is all about winning

But i'm not talking about the year before? In retrospect Gilbert had to sign him long term and it was pretty clear that the Cap was going to go up but DG thought it was a good idea to save money and that's fine by me. Obviously Delly wanted to sign long term before he got the QO and realized he had a chance to sign for big bucks.(PUN?)

But in 2016-2017 FA, don't think for a second that starting on a potential playoff team wasn't a big part of his consideration and I think the Cavs realized that and thought they didn't need him anyway to compete with GSW. I wouldn't be surprised if Delly asked them to not match but that's just a wild guess.

Whoa there. Here's what I said July 8th:

Delly will be a starter or 6th man in Milwaukee. He's a quality player, everyone in the NBA gave up this narrative a long term ago. Give it a rest.

I will stand by that. I thought he would beat out MCW, and he did. Brogdon looked very good in Summer League. He vastly outplayed Felder head to head. I actually looked up where Brogdon got picked last summer to see if he was available when the Cavs picked Wee Man. I've never said anything against him, and he clearly has outplayed his draft slot for a long time.

However, I'm of the opinion Delly is worth every penny to Milwaukee's young roster and I still believe it.

I loved Brogdon when he was at UVA. The dude can straight-up ball. He and Delly will be a great 1-2 punch at PG.

Oof. Nice game by Brogdon tonight. Delly, not so much. 12 minutes, 0-4, 1 rebound.

I love Delly, but he went from being our second-best active player to being unplayable in the span of a year.

Looks like he might have done the same thing for the Bucks in the span of a few months.

I liked having Delly on the Cavs, but we need guys who can guard Shaun Livingston.

I wonder if Milwaukee, under truth serum, would extend Delly that same offer if they had a crystal ball that allowed them to see how Delly has played coupled with Brogdon's development..

I'm not so sure the answer would be "yes". Maybe they still extend an offer, but maybe its not 4/36....maybe its 4/25...or 3/20, or somewhere in between. Maybe the Cavs match at $6-7Mil/year instead of 9...

Delly's shooting has been very very bad. He really struggles with all things scoring without the benefits of constant wide open shots/lanes and the passes from LeBron. He runs an offense decently enough though. I thought his assist numbers would pick up a little more than they have though, I mean they're up, but not like I thought they would be. But again, he's not passing to Kyrie/Bron/JR/lobbing to TT.

That hamstring seems to be a regular issue for him as well, he's not very durable. Wears down easily with starters responsibilities/minutes it seems. The one thing nobody is really talking about though....Delly is struggling defensively. I think him trying to take a more pronounced role in the offense coupled with him guarding starters every night for awhile, night in and night out, plus the hamstring of course...it's all combined to have Delly not looking like the guy he was last year.

I'd still take him in a heartbeat though. Still wish we kept him. I think he would be much closer to his peak numbers from last year if he stayed here.

I haven't seen a Milwaukee game since he came back from injury, but it looks like he hasn't had a decent game since the injury. I don't know if it means he isn't a fit anymore, isn't in a groove yet or he isn't healthy.

you went off too early, bucks had the players meeting after 4 losses in a row, delly inserted back into the starting line up and went 15pts/7a then 16pts/7a on 10/14 shooting

more importantly the bucks regained some of their early season intensity that had been missing recently and beat houston, so it looks like delly has overcome the situation like he usually does

Nice try Delly.
